The Whisper in the Walls

Have you ever listened something bizarre at night and thought, "That’s fair the house settling..."?

That’s what Lily thought too—until the whispers began.

She was as it were eight a long time ancient when her family moved into the house on Wren Road. It was enormous and ancient, with a cultivate full of weeds and a creaky staircase that moaned each time you took a step. Her guardians called it “charming.” Lily called it “super haunted.”

On the exceptionally to begin with night, Lily listened it. A delicate whisper, coming from behind the wallpaper.

At to begin with, she thought it was the wind. At that point she thought it was her enormous brother playing a trick. But the whispering didn’t stop—even when her brother was out of the house. Indeed when she secured her ears. Indeed when she told it to go away.

And here’s the most peculiar portion: it knew her name.

"Lily..."

"Help us..."

"We're still here..."

Chills, right?

One night, she at long last peeled back the corner of the backdrop. Behind it wasn’t fair a wall—it was a message scratched into the ancient wood:

“They fixed us in.”

From that minute on, the whispers developed louder. Faces squeezed through the backdrop. Her spotlight glinted. Her drawings moved on their own.

Lily wasn’t the as it were kid who listened the voices. The neighbor’s girl once said the house “talked to her too.” She moved absent quick after that.

No one truly knows who “they” were. Or who was fixed behind those dividers. But one thing's for beyond any doubt: if you ever listen whispers at night... don’t reply back.
