The Smiling Man

Something Is Hiding In Those Woods

By Connor DavisPublished 4 years ago 3 min read
Found on one of the trees near the structure believed to be his home

There are those who say, among the woods,

there lives a mysterious man.

Very few have heard, or understood,

the things said about the man.

Whether day or night, light or dark,

you'll still see this man.

But if, with this lecture, you wish to embark,

then hopefully these words, you can understand.

There is a tale, a tale that tells much

much about The Smiling Man.

Yes, I've heard this tale, the tale that tells much,

much about The Smiling Man.

If you haven't heard this tale, the tale that tells much,

much about The Smiling Man.

Then listen to me and I'll tell you much,

much about The Smiling Man.

He lives, this man, he lives alone,

inside a broken, old house.

He lives, this man, upon a throne,

inside the broken, old house.

He lives, this man, no electricity or phone,

inside the broken, old house.

He lives, this man, and not much is known,

what goes on inside the broken, old house.

Those who venture far, onto his land,

might find the man wandering about.

Those who venture far, onto his land,

will find that their time has run out.

Those who venture far, onto his land,

their sanity they'll begin to doubt.

Those who venture far, onto his land,

will find what The Smiling Man is all about.

Cause The Smiling Man, he watches all people that,

walk among his land.

Cause the people that walk, they'll point and laugh at all that,

exists among his land.

Cause the people, how they say things in such a rude manner,

it angers The Smiling Man.

Whether in the right or wrong, to him, it doesn't matter,

they'll learn not to taunt The Smiling Man.

Once they're taken, taken inside,

inside the broken, old house.

They'll be dragged around, around inside,

inside the broken, old house.

There'll be many rooms, rooms inside,

inside the broken, old house.

But there'll only be one open, open inside,

inside the broken, old house.

Inside that room, there'll be many things inside,

inside the broken, old room.

Tools of sharp, painful and unimaginable things,

inside the broken, old room.

And once he's done, done with the pain he brings,

inside the broken, old room.

There is a tune, a tune he softly sings,

inside the broken, old room:

"I am ugly, I am creepy,

I am the smiling man...

Who would ever want to meet me?

I am the smiling man...

No matter how much I try to stop me,

I'm still the smiling man...

You think I'm ugly and you think I'm creepy...!

makes sense... cause I'm the smiling man.

those who see me will run from me,

Me! The Smiling Man...

they'll run away and speak about me,

Me! The Smiling Man...

they'll run away & tell lies about me,

Me! The Smiling Man...

and if they don't run, they'll never be able to escape from me,

Me! The Smiling Man...

I'm not afraid, though I hate how I look,

so I try not to look if I can.

No mirrors I own, cause if I chose to look,

I'd see The Smiling Man.

But in the papers, if I chose to look,

I might see Me! The Smiling Man...

And the words they say about me, I dare not to look,

because I'm not that bad... Me! The Smiling Man."

I know a lot of this might sound strange,

trust me, I understand.

But if your mind, I can not change,

Then please, try to understand.

Don't venture far, within the range,

of that sacred land.

Cause if you choose to make that change,

you might find...

Me! The Smiling Man!
