The Porcelain Doll
A cold heart-A closed door.

"There was only one rule: don’t open the door.”
It was just a doll. Yet he had never seen anything more beautiful. She sat in a special glass enclosure, her eyes, speckled in shades of blue and gold, held his as if in a trance. Jewels of distant shores adorned her and sparkled with iridescence, adding intrigue to the mix. He had to own her.
"Nor for sale". The bored attendant said, pointing to the sign.
"Why not"? He asked.
"Owner says it's cursed. Can never leave the shop".
"How much is is it worth"?
Reluctantly, the clerk slid from her stool. Pretended to read the label.
"One thousand English pounds".
"I will give you five thousand American dollars".
The glass cage rattled. "That was strange". The attendant said. "Earthquake, maybe"?

Cash was exchanged. It was mostly counterfeit, but he wouldn't tell, and the deal was sealed.
"Now tie me up and leave me in the back room. I have been robbed! Lock the front door and go out the back. It locks automatically".
"By the way, "There is only one rule: don’t open the door.”
"Then how will I get out"?
"Not that door". Yelled the clerk, who smiled happily. Now he can blame the other items on this guy too. Sweet"!

Back at home, he eyed a place for the doll on the shelf next to his other collectibles. The contraband that he could smuggle inside this baby, she was a beut! He unwrapped it, stripped the clothes off and saw the little door on her back.
Strange! He recalled the clerk's words as he pulled the little door open, never noticing that the face had changed...aged somewhat.

The wolf was hungry, thirsty...she had not fed in a while.

Trick or treat!!!!
