Shane was having a good time. He really needed a day like this, spending time with friends who cared about him. He was struggling in college, and was constantly stressed over the thought of failing his final exams.

He watched Tasha chatting with Adrian, her brother. He was so scared how Adrian would react when he told him that he was interested in his sister.

He reacted pretty well for the most part. Adrian only punched him once in the face after he found out. And they remained best friends afterwards, so it was a total win.

Tasha was ordering ham and pineapple pizza on her laptop, as Adrian walked over to join Shane in the living room. Adrian and his sister lived together in the same apartment, wanting to save as much money as possible.

Adrian opened a can of beer and took a swig. He wiped at his mouth, and looked straight into Shane’s eyes.

“Have you ever heard of the pizza serial killer?”

Tasha let out a sarcastic laugh.

“Oh my god, could you shut up with your true crime obsession, Adrian? What’s your deal with those assholes?”

Adrian ignored his sister’s remark. He placed his beer can on the mini table in the living room, raising his hands in the air.

“The pizza serial killer is known for going after pizza delivery dudes. He would kill them, then take their clothes. Then he would be the one to deliver the pizza for the customers, where he would enter their home and kill them.”

“How did he get away with his crimes? With all the modern technology around, wouldn’t they just find his fingerprints on the pizza?”

Adrian leaned in closer to Shane.

“He cut off the fingertips from each of his fingers, so that he would never be caught for his crimes.”

Tasha sighed loudly.

“Shut up, bro. Can’t you see you’re scaring Shane?”

“I’m not scared,” Shane chimed in, but his voice broke at the end there. Adrian tried not to smile as Tasha was shaking her head.

“You’re such a child. Stop watching that shit.”

“I just want to share my knowledge of this killer, sis. He hasn’t been caught yet. Who’s to say that we won’t get to meet him today?”

Tasha stuck out her tongue at her brother, and then blew a kiss at Shane before walking away to go use the restroom. Adrian and Shane were spending the rest of the time talking about whatever, until they heard a knock at the door.

“That must be the pizza! Hey Shane, could you open the door? I need to get the money from my sister’s purse really quick. She said I could use her funds to pay for the pizza.”

“When did she say that?”

Adrian placed a finger to his lips in a playful manner, a smile behind his finger as he scurried off to go steal from his sister. Shane rolled his eyes. Tasha was going to be pissed.

Shane went over to answer the door.

A young man that appeared to be in his 30s was holding a box of pizza.

“Hey. That will be $12.95.”

“Sure. Sorry, my friend is grabbing the money really quick.”

The delivery guy nodded.

“Alright. I can wait.”

Shane gave him a polite nod. Then his eyes landed on the man’s fingers. There was a bandage around each one. Shane gasped. The man pulled out a gun from his pocket with a silencer at the end of it.

He pulled the trigger, shooting Shane through the neck. Shane covered his neck with his hand, feeling the blood trickle beneath his fingers. He fell, landing on his back.

Shane watched as he lied there dying, watching Adrian appear from the hallway. He saw the man shoot Adrian point blank. His body collapsed to the ground, not moving.

The man opened up the pizza box, purposely dropping the pizza on top of Adrian’s body. Several slices separated from each other, along with tomato sauce spilling all over his body and the tile floor.

Shane died listening to Tasha’s screams as the man went after her.
