The LumberJack

A true story

By John memonPublished 3 years ago 2 min read

In the deep woods of Northern Canada, there lived a lumberjack named Jack who was known to be the best in the business. He had been working in the industry for over two decades and had never missed a day of work. He was also known for his temper and his intimidating presence, which had earned him the nickname "Killer Jack" amongst his peers.

One winter, the company Jack worked for sent him and a few other lumberjacks to a remote area of the woods to clear a section of land for a new logging site. The area was thick with trees and the snow was deep, making it difficult for the team to move around.

As they began their work, Jack noticed that one of the other lumberjacks, a young man named Tom, was not pulling his weight. Jack confronted Tom, but the young man was defensive and refused to listen to Jack's instructions.

That night, Jack had a nightmare about Tom. In the dream, Tom had transformed into a tree and was screaming for help as Jack chopped him down with his axe. Jack woke up in a cold sweat and couldn't shake the feeling of unease.

Over the next few days, Jack became increasingly paranoid and aggressive towards Tom. He would follow him around the campsite and mutter threats under his breath. The other lumberjacks tried to intervene, but Jack was unresponsive.

One night, the lumberjacks heard a scream coming from Tom's tent. When they rushed over, they found him dead, with his throat slit open. Jack was nowhere to be found.

The remaining lumberjacks were terrified and decided to pack up and leave the site immediately. But as they were leaving, they realized that Jack was following them. He was covered in blood and holding his axe.

The lumberjacks ran through the woods, but Jack was relentless. He would appear and disappear out of nowhere, always one step behind them. They could hear his heavy breathing and the sound of his axe chopping through the trees.

After hours of running, the lumberjacks finally came across a small cabin. They quickly locked themselves inside, hoping to wait out the night. But Jack was already there, waiting for them.

The lumberjacks tried to fight back, but Jack was too strong. He swung his axe with deadly precision, and one by one, the lumberjacks fell to the ground, their bodies mutilated and bloodied.

In the end, Jack was the only one left standing. He looked around at the carnage he had caused and laughed, the sound echoing through the silent woods. From that day on, Jack was never seen again, but the legend of the Killer Lumberjack lived on in the minds of those who dared to enter the deep, dark woods of Northern Canada.
