The Last Room on the Left
Part II

“Come on, Dad, we have to hurry up!” said Breanna over exaggerating. “Why do I need to hurry up?” Dad asked being a smart alec. “Woof, Woof!” barked Eli, their pitbull puppy. “See he even gets it, Dad,” Breanna responded with a giggle. “Okay. Okay, hold your horses. Our new home isn't going anywhere.” “But my bladder is though,” Liam shouted intensely, “I gotta pee, Dad!” So many laughs, so many weak bladders. “We need to make it before I pee on myself, too,” said Mom. “There it is!” Liam shouted vigorously.
The family jumped out of the car and took off to the house, except for Andrew that is. “What about Eli? Just leave him here for me huh?” laughed Dad. As soon as Eli’s paws touched the dirt he was spinning in circles. Sarah shouted jokingly, “Eli seems more excited to be here than you! The last one to the bathroom has to wash the dog!” “Woohoo! So this is our furniture, too?” asked Liam while he walked from room to room. “How about we start settling our things in? After you, my prince,” said Dad with love and encouragement. Everyone chose their room and made it home. Liam was super excited because he got the room with the big table he loved to draw all the time. Even Breanna loved her room. She had a room with a lot of space around her bed, so she could dance all over. Everybody was exhausted from unpacking and a ready for bed, but the surprises were not over yet.
Sarah and Andrew were downstairs in the living room having a late-night chat and hot chocolate. “Do you think this is the best option?” asked Sarah discretely. “Of course baby. Where ever we go will survive anything,” responded Andrew comforting her. They laid back and enjoyed their show until they passed out on the couch.
(Deep exhaled breathing) “What is this? Where am I?” panicked Breanna? “This is my room, and my house,” she looked around out the window, “but it's all painted different and it's dark outside someone should be home.” She walked into the hallway but stopped in her tracks. “Why does it look so elegant?” Continuing across the hall to Liam’s room, she called Eli for comfort or protection because fear was consuming her. Liam wasn't in his room, and it seemed to be an office instead of his bedroom. Breanna walked in trying to find something familiar then spots the same table Liam loves with a journal and a glass of cider on it. She was thirsty and it smelled delicious, so she took a small sip and set it back down. Within seconds Breanna couldn't breathe. Gasping and choking for air she looked up to the mirror above the table. “What! Who am I?” as she fell to the floor.
Breanna woke up shaking and sweating, “I swear that dream was real, but who was I? I have never seen that lady before in my life. Still confused, she walked downstairs for some water. As she opened the fridge door to reach for a water bottle, she could see two small red blurs shining on the freezer door. Breanna spun around so fast she slipped because of her socks. She bumped her head on the freezer handle rendering her unconscious. When her eyes opened she was no longer in their kitchen. As her vision was coming to, she noticed something moving from the corner of her eyes. The stairs were in that direction, so she walked slowly up trying not to make any noise. When she reached the top she saw a woman walk into the room that she sleeps in if it was their house. Down in the last room on the right, she sees a lovely bedroom set and decor of fruit all around. See spotted a mirror and ran to it swiftly, “Thank GOD that I'm still me, but why does my house keep looking like this?” When she turned around there was a woman with red eyes and a thin smoky aura around her staring back at her. Breanna could still make out her face, “It’s you! Why was I you in my dreams? The lady darted through Breanna faster than she could take one step. Before she hit the floor and blacked out she could see the red-eyed lady laying on the bed.
Breanna jumped up screaming. “What’s wrong Breanna?” asked Liam running in to check on her. Looking around realizing it's her house, “Nothing. I'm okay I just had a bad dream.” She got up, brushed her teeth; got dressed, and went to breakfast.
Later that evening, Liam was playing with Eli in the backyard. They played fetch until Liam's arms got tired. On the other hand, last toss, the ball rolled close to the back porch. Eli ran over to the ball, but he just stood there. “Come here, boy. What are you looking at?” called out Liam? Eli barked at the back door and growled, then ran to the front yard. Liam had to chase him to make sure he didn't run away. When they got back to the backyard Eli started to scratch at the steps like he was trying to get a squirrel or something. “I think you need a play break, boy,” Liam said as he grabbed his collar to bring him inside. He fell in startling fear when he turned around at the sight of a red-eyed woman staring down at him from the back door. He tried to look back up as quickly as possible, but she was no longer there anymore. “See boy now you got me seeing things with your scary self. Come on. We're going inside,” Liam told Eli with disbelief.
After the following dinner, Liam took a bath and got ready for bed. Sarah came in to tuck him in. “Mom?” he whispered. “Yes, baby?” she responded. “Earlier today I was outside playing with Eli and I saw a red-eyed woman staring at me from the back door. Then when I looked back up from falling she wasn't there.” Liam explained shaking in confusion. Mom explained that sometimes the mind can be dangerous. Some people can imagine things that are scary to them and it can get the best of them, but it can also keep you safe by showing you what not to do. “How about we try to get some sleep?” Mom said securely kissing him goodnight.
Even though Sarah put the kids to bed, something was keeping her mind from resting. As she lay there next to her husband, Sarah tried to shut her eyes at the sight of his peace but began to hear footsteps slowly walking downstairs. Assuming it was one of the kids, she went to scope the scene. Once in the kitchen, Sarah saw nothing. No objects are out of place and it was certainly not the kids. There are no lights outside so it's hard to see out the windows at night, but Sarah saw something shoot to the left of the house. Quickly, she reached to grab the flashlight from the near table by the back door to go check around the house. There was no one around from what she could see squinting into the distance, so she walked off the porch into the grass panning back and forth. She tried to hurry back inside when she saw the lights upstairs cut on. Taking a step back to see who woke up, shockingly two red eyes were gazing down at her from the last room on the left. “Liam!” Sarah cried out as she banged on the back door, but it wouldn't budge. Panicking, she ran back to see what's happening from the window, but it was all dark again. Forcing her eyes deep into Liam's window, there was a shadow figure that moved from his window turning on all the lights as it crept down the hall. Sarah fearful and bawling out, ran as fast as she could to the front door because the back one is locked. It was already open. She ran inside and up the stairs stumbling from all the darkness. “Someone just turned on all the lights how are they off now?” Sarah thought. Liam seemed asleep and sound in his bed as did Breanna. “Maybe I just need some sleep because I am not functioning right,” she said while walking back to their room. Suddenly as she reached her door the hallway light cut on. Eyes as big as baseballs, Sarah turned around slower than a snail. She instantly fell into tears, “Breanna baby what's wrong? What woke you up?” Breanna peered up at her red-eyed and began to float. Scared out of her mind Sarah fell back against their room door. Breanna floated into Liam's room and the door slammed. Out came Andrew from hearing the loud thud against the door. “What's the matter, baby!” “Someone has the kids in Liam’s room!” Sarah shouted. They both full force jumped into the door and it swung open. There stood a woman with long dark hair near the table. “Who are you! Where are my kids!” demanded Andrew? The lady turned around as she began to speak, “I never thought the day would come. I am stronger than I ever have been. You are not the Jetton blood I came for, but you will help me get stronger,” Dalila yelled as she plunged through them and consumed their essences. Now full body and full spirit, Dalila walked over to the computer and telepathically sent an email to the last descendent of Jacob Jetton’s blood. “Now, the Jetton reign will end,” she smirked as she opened the front door and vanished.
