The Last Message

When Curiosity Opens a Door to the Darkest Secrets of the Future

By ABDU LLAHPublished 5 months ago 3 min read

It started with a message...

Emma, a 23-year-old student from London, had always been curious about the darker side of the internet. A self-proclaimed “paranormal enthusiast,” she loved browsing through mysterious forums, reading creepy tales, and watching strange, unsolved disappearances. One night, after scrolling through a forum she hadn’t visited before, she came across an unusual post titled “Send a Message to the Future, and It Will Reply.”

Curiosity piqued, Emma clicked on it. The post was oddly simple:

“Send a message to 123-456-7890. Write anything you wish—your fears, your regrets, your questions. But beware... it will reply.”

At first, Emma thought it was just another hoax. A creepy prank designed to mess with people’s heads. But something about it felt... real. So, half-jokingly, she typed a message into her phone:

“What happens when we die?”

She sent it to the number.

The Reply

The next morning, Emma woke up to an unfamiliar notification. She stared at her phone, confused. It was a text from the same number.

"Do you want to know the truth?"

Her heart raced. What was going on? She replied quickly:

"Who is this?"

The reply was almost immediate:

"I am you... from the future."

Emma laughed nervously, thinking this had to be some sick joke. But then she noticed the time stamp on the message—it was sent at exactly 3:33 AM, the same time she had sent her original message. She looked at the text again, her stomach twisting with a mix of fear and fascination.

"I know what you're thinking. You don’t believe me. But you will soon."

Things Took a Turn...

Over the following days, Emma continued to receive strange messages. They started simple at first—cryptic, eerie responses to her questions—but they soon escalated.

“I see what you did last night.”

“You should have stayed away from that site.”

“They’re watching you.”

Then came the warnings.

“Stop asking questions. There are things you don’t want to know.”

“They won’t leave you alone now. They never do.”

One night, after a particularly unsettling text, Emma noticed something strange. She could hear a faint whisper, like a soft voice, coming from her phone. It wasn’t a ringtone or a notification—just whispers, getting louder with every passing second.

Frightened, she turned off her phone, but the whispers didn’t stop. They grew louder, almost deafening.

The True Horror

The next day, Emma went to a psychic to find some answers. The psychic, a woman with sharp eyes and an intense gaze, immediately asked Emma to put her phone on the table.

“I can feel it,” the psychic said, her voice trembling. “It’s not a message. It’s something much worse. Something has attached itself to you. And it wants more than just your questions.”

Emma’s hands shook as she picked up her phone. The screen flickered, and for the first time, she saw something she hadn’t expected—a photo of herself, taken while she was asleep. The photo was so clear, so close, it was as if someone had been standing beside her bed.

"I told you," the message read. "I am you, but not in this time. I’m coming for you."

Emma dropped her phone, her heart pounding in her chest. The psychic reached for the phone, but just as her fingers touched it, the screen went black. The whispers stopped.

The psychic looked at Emma with wide, frightened eyes. “You should have never sent that message. Now, it’s already too late.”

The Truth...

Emma returned home that night, her mind racing with thoughts of what had just happened. She tried to delete the contact from her phone, but it was gone. No trace, no record. Her phone was wiped clean.

But that night, when she went to bed, she heard the whispers again.

This time, they were louder.

This time, they were inside her room.

The Final Message

The next morning, Emma woke up to one final message.

“It’s time to meet. You’ve asked too many questions.”

That was the last thing she read before her phone disappeared.

Emma was never seen again.

But some say, if you send a message to that number, it might reply. Some say it’s not just a coincidence. Some say that it’s not Emma who responded to her text… but something much darker, something that feeds off your curiosity.

Would you send a message?
