THE INDELIBLE

The Story of an unforgettable adventure

By Joy EnajeduPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

The old, abandoned house sat at the end of a long, winding path, its windows boarded up, and its doors locked. Rumors of spirits haunting the place kept people away, and there was a sense of unease among those who dared to venture to its gates. But Jack was determined to explore the house and find out what was inside for himself.

A group of friends had dared Jack to explore the house and gather some items as proof of his bravery. Jack, wanting to prove himself to his friends, accepted the challenge and approached the eerie mansion. There was a chill in the air, and Jack felt his heart rate pick up as he made his way to the front door.

The creaking of the boards echoed in the silence as Jack pushed open the door, a musty smell hitting him as he stepped inside. The place was dark, and it took a while for Jack's eyes to adjust to the dim light filtering through the boarded-up windows. He pushed forward, feeling a sense of dread begin to settle in his gut.

Suddenly, Jack heard footsteps behind him, and he spun around, wondering if his friends had followed him after all. But the hallway behind him was empty. He shrugged it off, knowing that it was probably just his imagination running wild, and continued to explore the ground floor.

As he made his way through the house, Jack found himself drawing closer to the basement door. He hesitated, knowing that the basement was often the creepiest part of a house, but curiosity got the better of him. He pushed open the door and descended the stairs.

The temperature dropped as he went lower, and Jack shivered, wondering if it was just the temperature, or if something more sinister was afoot. He could hear his heartbeat pounding in his ears and his breaths became shorter and quicker.

Suddenly, a voice broke through the silence, and Jack jumped, his heart racing. "Get out."

The voice was whisper-soft, but it cut straight through Jack's fears, and he knew that he needed to leave immediately. Without looking back, he scrambled up the basement stairs and burst through the door, running out of the house as fast as his legs could carry him.

The group of friends waited outside, whooping and hollering as Jack made his escape. But Jack couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong, and he knew that he had to go back to the house.

The next day, Jack returned to the house, determined to prove that he wasn't scared of it. He ventured into the basement again, feeling as though he was being watched all the time. But there was nothing there.

Then he heard it again. "Get out."

The voice was stronger this time, and Jack turned to look around. A figure appeared in the darkness, a shadowy silhouette that seemed to be made of nothing.

Jack screamed and ran, leaving the house behind forever. But the apparition stayed with him, haunting his dreams each night. It became clear to Jack that the house was cursed and that he would never be truly free of the horror that lay within its walls.

Now, after years, people still talk about the young man who lost his mind after exploring the house. Everyone believed he was mentally disturbed as he wandered endlessly in the cemetery. But there were still some who believed that it was the spirit of that cursed old house that drove him to madness, and that it was still waiting for those who dared to enter its walls.
