The Haunting Melody of Eliza's Love

La mélodie obsédante de l'amour d'Eliza

By Khalid laakikiPublished 2 years ago 2 min read

Once upon a time, in a small town nestled deep in the woods, there was a legend about an old, abandoned mansion. Every Halloween, the townsfolk would gather around campfires and whisper tales of eerie lights flickering in the mansion's windows, of strange noises echoing through its halls.

Among the children of the town, there was a daring duo named Emma and Lucas. They were known far and wide for their bravery and love of adventure. One crisp October evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon and the shadows grew long, Emma and Lucas made a pact—they would solve the mystery of the haunted mansion once and for all.

Armed with flashlights, they crept through overgrown gardens and creaky gates until they stood before the mansion's imposing front doors. With a shaky breath, Emma pushed the door open, and they stepped into a world frozen in time.

Inside, the air was thick with dust and memories. Cobwebs hung from chandeliers like delicate lace, and portraits of stern-faced ancestors lined the walls. As they ventured deeper, each creak and groan of the old house sent chills down their spines.

Suddenly, a soft melody drifted from upstairs—a haunting piano tune that seemed to beckon them closer. Heart racing, Emma led the way up a grand staircase, with Lucas close behind. At the end of a dimly lit hallway, they found a room bathed in moonlight, its windows overlooking the misty forest.

There, sitting at an ancient piano, was a ghostly figure—a young girl with pale skin and sad, shimmering eyes. She smiled softly at Emma and Lucas, her fingers dancing on the keys as if playing a melody from a forgotten time.

"Who are you?" Lucas whispered, his voice barely audible in the stillness.

The ghostly girl paused, her ethereal form flickering like a candle in the wind. "I am Eliza," she said, her voice as gentle as the autumn breeze. "Once, long ago, this mansion was my home. I loved to play the piano, but... but something terrible happened."

Emma and Lucas listened in rapt attention as Eliza recounted her tale—a tale of love and loss, of secrets buried deep within the mansion's walls. She spoke of a tragic accident that took her life and left her spirit trapped in the mansion, unable to move on.

Moved by compassion, Emma reached out to Eliza, offering her hand. "We can help you," she said, her voice steady despite the eerie surroundings. "Together, we can uncover the truth and set you free."

With a shimmering smile, Eliza nodded. Guided by her spectral light, Emma and Lucas explored hidden passages and dusty libraries, piecing together clues long forgotten. In the heart of the mansion, they discovered a hidden diary—a diary that revealed the truth behind Eliza's untimely demise.

As the clock struck midnight on Halloween night, Emma, Lucas, and Eliza stood together in the mansion's grand foyer. With a final, heartfelt farewell, Eliza's spirit ascended, vanishing into the starlit sky.

From that Halloween onward, the old mansion was never haunted again. Instead, it became a place of warmth and light—a testament to the power of friendship, bravery, and the enduring spirit of Halloween.
