The Haunted River Night
Fear Lurking in the River's Darkness

Long ago, our village had no electricity. People used hurricane lamps at night. Everything was very quiet after 9pm. They heard the birds early in the morning and were able to silence after sunset. The village night was peaceful, but it was a bit scary.
Something happens on a cold winter night. Even today, seniors whispered it in the village. They believe something a little bad happened that night.
In our village, we had four close friends: Ripon, Bapi, Jahid and Suman. They put it all together - playing, studying, eating. Suman was a little different between them. He has always loved making new, exciting, and even dangerous.
One day, the school exam ended. They were all happy and relaxed.
"Let's go somewhere!" Ripon said.
"Every time we have fun. It gets boring," Suman said.
"What do you want to do?" asked Jahid.
"I want to spend the night in the river,Just a flashlight and a hurricane lamp!"
"Are you crazy? Our parents disagree. "
" Come on! It's fun. We will all be together. “
After some conversations, everyone agreed.
They all came to the river around 10pm. They brought food, a flashlight, a hurricane lamp, and some blankets. The air was cold and full of mist. Her boat was small, old and made of wood. I started squealing every time someone moved.
There were no boatmen. They made a plan to row it themselves. The night was very quiet. No one else was outside due to the winter. The river looked like a mirror covered in white smoke.
Suman stood in front of him with a row. Jahid was behind. Ripon and Bapi sat in the middle and spoke. The light from the hurricane lamp made her face look strange, even if it was a little scary.
When the boat moved forward, they noticed something. They were no longer in their area. Everything nearby looked unknown. Both sides of the river were filled with fields of wheat. It was quiet - it was too quiet.
Suddenly, they heard the sound. It was howling. At first, it felt normal. But then the sound became strange - almost unnatural.
She lifted the lamp and saw something shocking. Many eyes were visible in the darkness of the field. They stared at dozens of jackals.
"You look at us," he whispered.
"Your eyes look red..." Jahid said.
The Jackal didn't move. They just stood up and stared. I slowly approached.
"Rise the boat!" She cried, Suman. Jahid was back soon. However, the Jackals ran along the riverbank - a boat.

The boat hit a little under the water - perhaps a tree branch. It turned slightly over. A hurricane ramp fell into the river and headed out. Now, only the torch was left, and his light was weak.
Then Suman cried: "A little bit of my legs!"
They pointed to the flashlight, but saw nothing. Nevertheless, the blood came from Suman's feet. The bite looked like human claws - not animals.
And they heard a voice from the wheat field. Soft and broken whispers:
"Stop the boat..."
all solidified. Her body trembled. The voice was not heard by humans. It sounded as dry as old leaves.
They started rowing quickly without thinking. No one spoke.suddenly heard the morning Azan (Islamic call to prayer). It was dawn. The fog has become a little apparent. They saw them near the old cemetery. But they have never been that way.
Late in the morning, some villagers came and found them. All four were certain - except for Suman. He has passed away. His feet had a deep cut that looked like it was from a human hand.
After that night, Suman was never the same again. He became very quiet. Sometimes during his sleep he said -
"You called me... You'll come back..."
Even today there is no one near the river near the river. People say- In the mist, you can still see your eyes in the dark. And sometimes a broken voice still whispers -
"Stop the boat..."
