The Haunted Cabin

The Dare I Took

The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. My friends and I walked up to the cabin on a dare. My dog Sam was with us too. She is a black lab and very obedient. She goes with me everywhere.

The cabin was not locked, and I was the only one that went inside. My friends decided to hang back. It was nice inside and it had nice furniture. The place was packed with old antique furniture. It was gorgeous. I loved it.

As I was looking around, I forgot where I was, and I was getting very comfortable. I thought I was home. Sam my dog was even laying down and being very comfy.

The cabin had two floors and we were just in the living room part of the cabin. It was attached to the dining room. Also, it has a kitchen attached to the dining room. That is the first floor. Then there are stares that takes you up to two bedrooms. Sam my dog and I had checked it out too. It had gorgeous beds with silk sheets. We had only peeked upstairs.

When Sam and I were back downstairs, and I was looking at the silverware in the buffet table there was a song that was playing lighting over and over and over. I played no mind to it at first because I thought it was coming from outside from a car radio.

I looked over at Sam who was laying down on the floor of the "haunted cabin", but Sam wasn't looking outside. Sam had her ears perked up looking up at the stairs. She was looking at the stairs as if someone was talking to her from down the stairs. It was obvious she heard the tune too from upstairs.

That's when I realized the melody I was listening to wasn't coming from outside, but inside the cabin. It was coming from upstairs. We really didn't spend that much time up there. Maybe we should have, but what do I do with beds. I'm not tired. Cabin, are you singing to me?

I walked closer to the stairs to listen to see, and sure enough, it's the same tune over and over playing from upstairs. I called my friends to see if they would come inside to hear it. They left me. They decided to go on a hike. I was so mad. I told them to get their butts back over here now! So, as I am waiting on them, I kept listening to this tune and the volume went up some. I went in and out of the cabin waiting on my friends to get back from their hike.

In the meantime, of waiting on my friends, I just went to the bottom of the stairs again to listen to the tune. I couldn't believe this. It wasn't playing when I first got to the cabin and now it will not shut off. All I know it's coming from upstairs and that is all I know. I guess maybe, I should know more than that.

I go to the bottom of the stairs to listen again and it's playing the same tune over and over. I decided to go up the stairs to see where exacting the tune is coming from upstairs. So, I walked up stairs slowly. As, I walked up stairs the tune got louder and louder because I was getter closer and closer. I got upstairs and it was coming from one of the bedrooms.

It was coming from the kid's bedroom. I went inside the bedroom, and it was a penny bank. The penny bank was playing a tune over and over. It was a penny bank where when you put in a penny it will play a tune every time. The penny bank was broken. It had a penny just laying on rim. It was stuck playing the music tune. Why or how did it get stuck and why now?

When I took the penny off the penny bank the lights went off and on. I knew then I needed to get out of the cabin for sure. So I left and luckily my friends were back from their hike. I left and never went back.
