The Girl Who Saw Someone Outside Her Window Every Night
She said someone stood outside her window every night. No one believed her — until the camera stopped working… and the footage disappeared.

The Girl Who Saw Someone Outside Her Window Every Night
Her name was Inaya.
Seven years old.
Curious, gentle, always drawing stars on every page.
Everything was normal.
Until one cold November night, she told her mother:
> “There’s someone outside my window.”
Her room faced the garden.
The window had no balcony.
Just a small flower grill and a deep shadow from the backyard tree.
Her mother checked.
No one there.
She said, “It’s just your imagination.”
Inaya didn’t argue.
She never did.
But the next night, she said the same thing.
> “He’s back.”
---
She didn’t say monster.
She didn’t say ghost.
She said:
> “A man. He stands still. Doesn’t blink. Just watches.”
Her father checked again.
Nothing.
He reassured her.
> “No one can stand outside a window ten feet above the ground.”
Inaya said quietly:
> “I know. That’s why it’s strange.”
---
The third night, she refused to sleep in her room.
She began drawing him.
Long. Tall. No face.
Just outlines.
Always standing in the same spot.
One hand slightly lifted — like knocking without knocking.
They thought she was dreaming.
Until…
Her baby brother began crying every night at exactly 2:41 AM.
Every single night.
And always while looking at her window.
---
Enough was enough.
Her father installed a night vision motion-detecting camera facing the window from inside.
Connected it to his phone.
Set it to record between 2:00 and 3:00 AM.
---
The next morning, Inaya looked calm.
> “He didn’t come last night,” she said.
They smiled. Relief.
But when her father checked the footage…
The file was gone.
Only the clip from 1:58 AM to 2:00 AM was present.
Then black screen.
Then 3:01 AM resumed.
No motion alert.
Just gap.
---
He checked the app logs.
No deletion.
No error.
He checked the SD card manually.
A single corrupted video file titled:
"Window.MKV"
It wouldn’t open.
---
That night, he kept watch personally.
He sat outside her room, lights off, camera on.
At 2:41 AM, the temperature dropped suddenly.
He heard a soft tap.
Not on glass.
But on his phone screen.
He looked up.
Nothing outside the window.
But the curtains…
Were moving slightly.
As if someone had just turned away.
---
He burst into the room, switched on all lights.
Inaya was awake. Sitting. Staring at the window.
> “He didn’t look at me tonight,” she said.
> “What did he do?”
She whispered:
> “He looked at you.”
---
They moved her room the next day.
But now… she sees him in reflections.
In the glass of picture frames.
In the water on the table.
In the television when it's off.
---
And the most terrifying part?
Last night…
They received a notification from the camera app.
Motion detected: 2:41 AM.
When they opened the clip…
It was just Inaya sleeping.
But in the glass of the window behind her…
A long hand
pressed slowly against the inside.
---
They removed the camera.
They removed the window.
They moved houses.
But Inaya still whispers:
> “He doesn’t need a window now. He just stands behind the wall.”
---
Because some visitors don’t knock.
They just wait to be believed.
