The Ever-changing Board

Ive managed to get myself into a relationship with the girl of my dreams and everything was going great until I found out the truth....

Oh, everything between us is great but there's just a little something that we both somehow happened to miss. Let me explain how it all started. When I first walked into her apartment I noticed on the wall next to the outside of her room, had a small Drawing board and on it had a picture of a girl who had a lost confused look on her face with question marks floating all around her. I paid no mind to the little drawing as I thought it was nothing harmless, maybe a niece or maybe even she drew it on her free time, I don't know who am I to judge. A few weeks later after the first time I even stepped foot into the apartment, during another visit I noticed the boards drawing changed... Same type of drawing style but this time the girl had a look of love, with heart eyes to a smile with hearts floating all around her. Now I figured this must be her mood board since the drawings seem to fit the emotions she's showing in real life. My theory seemed to fit because throughout our relationship It just kept changing to what we were dealing with.. The picture was sad whenever my girlfriend was sad, the picture was happy whenever my girlfriend was happy, the picture would be mad whenever my girlfriend was mad. The board was always spot on with the emotions of my partner, Always..

Throughout the course of our relationship we wound up getting into a huge argument that wound up splitting us for a month.. Without my lovely I felt lost... Alone... In the dark... Emotionless.. in all I felt like I was going insane. So I had to get back with my dream girl. We got back together, I noticed that the drawing on the board was representing the same exact emotions I felt.. but it was a girl painted in instead... So I figured to myself. "Oh my god she felt the same exact way as me, omf we definitely are meant to be together"

So I made some changes and little do you know a months later I managed to have saved enough money to get us a brand new apartment, Heading over to her place bearing the good news I walk in and noticed the board had a rather strange drawing on it this time... It was a picture of a girl with packed bags moving out happily walking out the front steps and left behind at the doorway of her house was a figure of a sad looking being with tears all around it.. Now I thought to myself how could this be... I haven't even told her the news yet.. how could she have drawn something she doesn't even know about.. I decided enough with the guessing and went on to ask her and that's when I found out the truth... "Hey babe why'd you draw a picture of somebody moving out?" I asked in a weirded out way. "Uhmmmm I haven't touched that board since I was a kid and my nieces haven't been here since last Christmas " she responded in a jokingly manner." A cold feeling hit my entire body as my look of shock, shocked her enough to make her stop laughing. She knew something was wrong so she urged me to explain why I even asked.... As I stood frozen in disbelief for what seemed like 10 years was only a minute I went ahead and slowly told her what I've been seeing. Knowing what we both knew... It was a good idea that we were moving away anyways... My girlfriend had been unknowingly living with a ghost this whole time..
