The Ending to Society Traumatized Me

I regret watching the ending to this film.

I had seen the ending to this movie when I was in college. I decided to check out the ending out of curiosity, while I was having a lovely dinner in the lovely cafeteria that served damn good food.

I instantly regretted my decision with watching this specific ending.

From my understanding of what the hell I had seen after my appetite was ruined, I think these creatures, monsters, or whatever the hell these things are...were consuming human skin. They were all eating off the skin from some random dude they had found, and he was ALIVE as it was happening.

He was terrified the whole time, as these monsters were slowly consuming him, having a good time.

He was becoming a part of these people, being absorbed by them through his skin.

I could be wrong by my own interpretation of what I think was happening in this scene, because...I haven't actually seen the movie.

And it's because that ending that really messed me up.

The ending to this film was enough to convince me to never watch this movie.

I most likely had watched the most iconic scene of the film, but damn, that body horror really bothered me. I'm not the type of person to easily get grossed out, but sometimes, there have been some movies that have actually defeated me. The Ugly Stepsister was a recent horror film I have watched during October, and I struggled to get through each of the body horror scenes.

Society got to me so bad, that I wasn't alright for the rest of the day after my dinner was ruined that day in college. I was recently undergoing a horror phase, and my phase was ruined after I had watched that ending scene.

I had to watch comedy scenes on YouTube from non-horror movies to make myself snap out of my trauma. It's beyond rare for me to have to do this, but I can't handle some horror.

And that's coming from someone that adores horror, and is willing to give all kinds of horror a chance.

I am considering giving Society a chance...one day. I keep hearing from so many horror fans that Society is a fan favorite among horror fans. Perhaps I am missing out on a gem, and I don't realize it.

I'm not exaggerating when I say this, a lot of people online have told me I need to watch this movie. I do like to go online sometimes and search up what people recommend, or even give out my own suggestions when it comes to horror movies I think people would love.

Side rant: It makes me happy that Dark and the Wicked is always mentioned among horror fans. I feel that this movie doesn't get enough credit, and it's one of the scariest horror films I have ever seen. I know how random this was, but I thought it would be cool to mention this lol.

I think I should give Society a watch sometime in the near future. I'm a dedicated horror fan...to a certain extend. And since I have started a YouTube channel consisting of any kind of horror topic...I feel like I should go ahead and watch this movie one day. I literally uploaded my thoughts on the ending of Society to YouTube earlier today, so come on.

Perhaps I am supposed to watch this movie. Perhaps I need to appease the horror fans in some way. And perhaps I will regret watching this movie once again, or maybe I should stop watching the movie right before that messed up ending arrives to save myself from getting traumatized again.

Yeah. Perhaps I should.
