The Door
Curiosity killed the cat
There was only one rule: do not open the door. The back door was the only oddity to the modern lab. In red letters it said for emergencies only, do not open. I thought it was an emergency exit, but it wasn’t. It was an enigma.
It was late at night and I was alone. I heard a sound behind the door. Something was there. Heavy labored breathing, it was in pain, I think
“Hello,” I whispered.
The sound stopped. I could hear no more. The door was locked and would not open.
When I asked what was behind the door, no one seemed to know. Every once in a while there would be a light that would come from under it. You could see movement of shadows, but only rarely.
One lonely night I heard a crash of a beaker hitting the floor and a strange green fluid leaked into the lab. It stank of rotten meat. I left to get the clean-up kit, but when I got back it was gone. Not a trace. That night, I put a hair across the frame to the door. The next day it was gone.
My curiosity got the best of me, and I brought in my small scope camera one night. After what I happened I never went back.
There was little strange city. It was inhabited by small flying hideous creatures and they saw the camera. Instantly I was pulled into the city. They were angry and wanted to roast me to protect their secret. Next thing I know I'm tied to a spit with a golden cord turning over a fire. Just as they were going to eat me I woke up in my bed with the golden cord wrapped around me. It was too real.

Very spooky indeed. I too thought of an emergency exit when I read the prompt!
