"The more the doctor himself reread the medical documents the more a morbid conclusion that these would be the last days of Dr. Rishard Nite began to settle in, or so it seemed."

Does the oozing blood creep into the sewers for eternity?

Log Line:

A well-known hematologist produces a serial in the hopes of curing his rare white blood cancer, but instead becomes a ravenous monster.

Dramatic Question:

"Would it be dangerous to track down and capture a cannibalistic maniac in pursuit of a cure?"

Introduction of the Sickened Blood Doctor Begins…

A man alone in his Gothic City condominium awakens from his bedroom drenched in sweat, awoken by the screeching of tire marks rubbing against the wet cement pavement and loud emergency sirens echoing through the night air. Only a few days after October 13th, which happened to be a Friday, did he receive the worst kind of news in the mail. The letter was written by the Department of Oncology at Clemency Hospital. Blood tests were ordered, and cancer screenings revealed that the patient had cancer. Dr. Rishard Nite had not anticipated the tenacious struggle between his own life and what was to come.

The gray streaks on the doctor's temples were wet with sweat as he realized his own blood had begun to betray him. The more the doctor reread the medical documents, the more a morbid conclusion that these would be Dr. Rishard Nite's final days seemed to settle in. Water droplets fell graciously down the windows outside Dr. Nite's home that night, slowing time in his mind. And the sounds of rain hitting the window glass provided a melancholy soundtrack to the doctors' condominium. The words on the letter seemed to flow together like wet fountain pen ink rushing down the page.

The doctor's lime green eyes were unable to focus on the pages. The room began to spin as the doctor replayed in his mind how gradually this rare cancer spread steadily in his body. His life could not be brought to an abrupt halt in any way. The doctor was a well-known figure in Gothic City's Hematology department. It astounded him that a blood cancer would be the catalyst for a decline in the long life he had known.

And, while Dr. Nite knew very little about all of the ways to treat a cancer cell as rare as his own, he did have a thorough understanding of blood cells and how to best them in medical combat as he saw it now. In his early twenties, Dr. Nite found fortune and success in the medical field by developing the first antibiotic injection capable of flushing out the bloodstream in the arteries within the body and eradicating diabetes and blood clots for the citizens of Gothic City. Nowadays, strange and despicable figures dressed in costumes and masks paraded through the streets of the city. Citizens of Gothic City, such as Dr. Nite, knew all too well that the mental illness in his city needed to be treated as soon as possible.

On that chilly night, the muffled words on Dr. Nite's television seemed to vibrate softly throughout the condominium. There had supposedly been a monster out there on the streets known as The Bugbear who had just been featured in the Gothic City News for kidnapping children right from their homes at night. Authorities feared The Bugbear was even devouring some of the kidnapped victims, according to rumors circulating across the city. Dr. Nite had a strange insight at that point in an unconscious effort to make sense of the grisly news on the screen juxtaposed with the words fixated on the document from Clemency Hospital. What if a newly discovered approach of antibodies specifically designed to consume any cancer related blood remained within the hematologist could be used to catch a direct sample of his rare cancer cells from within his own body?

Dr. Rishard Nite's thoughts began to create a little more sinister plot after overhearing the continued news on the G.C.N broadcast. If the doctor could somehow capture The Bugbear villain alive, he'd have a live specimen whose blood and biology had transformed as a result of his cannibalistic lifestyle. Perhaps Dr. Rishard Nite's mind had been taken over by craziness that night. The doctor's primary priority was now to find a cure for this unusual malignancy as soon as possible. The doctor recognized that without a remedy, the degradation of his own blood cells within his body would begin sooner rather than later.
