The Cave Of No Return

The Statue’s curse

By Ayyan KhananiPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Once upon a time, there was a guy named Jack who loved to explore caves. He had explored many caves in his lifetime and had always been fascinated by the mysteries that lay hidden within their depths.

One day, he heard about a cave that he had never been to before. It was said to be one of the deepest and most dangerous caves in the world. Jack was intrigued and decided to explore it.

He packed his gear and set off on his adventure. As he descended deeper into the cave, he noticed that the walls were getting narrower and the air was getting colder. He could feel the weight of the earth pressing down on him from all sides like a suffocating blanket.

Despite the danger, Jack continued on, determined to reach the end of the cave. He climbed over boulders and squeezed through narrow passages until he finally reached a large chamber.

In the center of the chamber stood a strange statue. It was unlike anything Jack had ever seen before. Its twisted form seemed to writhe and contort in the flickering light of his torch like a living nightmare.

As he approached it, he heard a loud noise behind him. He turned around and saw that the entrance to the cave had collapsed. He was trapped like a rat in a cage.

Panic set in like a cold hand gripping his heart as Jack realized that he was stuck in the cave with no way out. He tried to find another way out, but all of his efforts were in vain like trying to catch smoke with his bare hands.

As the days passed, Jack grew weaker and weaker. He could hear strange noises in the darkness like whispers on the wind and felt like something was watching him from the shadows like a predator stalking its prey.

He began to have strange dreams about the statue in the center of the chamber. In his dreams, it would come to life and speak to him in a language he couldn’t understand. Its voice was like a thousand snakes hissing in unison like a chorus of demons.

Jack tried to keep his spirits up by telling himself that someone would come and rescue him. But as time passed and no one came, he began to lose hope.

He started to hallucinate and see things that weren’t there. The darkness seemed to close in on him like a living entity, suffocating him with its oppressive presence.

He would wake up screaming from nightmares where he was being chased by monsters through endless tunnels. The statue seemed to mock him with its twisted grin, as if it knew something that he didn’t.

Jack tried to keep himself occupied by exploring every inch of the chamber. He found strange markings on the walls that he couldn’t decipher. They seemed to be some kind of ancient language that had been lost to time.

He also found bones scattered around the chamber. They looked human, but he couldn’t be sure. The thought that others had been trapped here before him sent shivers down his spine.

As time passed, Jack grew weaker and weaker. His food supplies ran out and he was forced to drink water from puddles on the cave floor. It tasted foul and made him sick, but it was all he had.

He tried to ration his supplies as best he could, but eventually they ran out completely. He was forced to eat whatever he could find in the cave - insects, fungi, anything that would keep him alive for just one more day.

But even that wasn’t enough. Jack grew weaker and weaker until he could barely move. His mind began to play tricks on him and he started to see things that weren’t there.

The statue seemed to come alive before his very eyes, its twisted form writhing and contorting in ways that defied logic. It spoke to him in a language that he couldn’t understand but somehow knew was ancient and powerful.

Jack tried to resist its call but it was too strong. It promised him freedom from his prison if only he would give himself over to it completely.

In his weakened state, Jack couldn’t resist any longer. He gave himself over to the statue and felt its power coursing through him like an electric shock.

But it was all for naught. The power consumed him completely and left nothing behind but a hollow shell.

Eventually, Jack succumbed to his fate and was never seen again. Some say that his ghost still haunts the cave, waiting for someone to come and rescue him from his eternal prison like a lost soul searching for redemption.
