The Case of Bloody Mary

By Dylan Strobel

By Strobel’s Reporting Published 5 years ago 2 min read

You know growing up I can remember my brother always trying to scare me with things like spiders, and took it over the line of normal brother torment of the little brother... but the one game I remember him telling me about a game, and the one game I think that we ALL have played by ourselves or with another person in our lives at one time or another........Bloody Marry.

Now we all know the legend, and we all know the game, you Light a candle and Turn off the lights then look into a mirror and say the name “bloody marry” three times and then the spirit of Bloody marry is suppose to appear to you. But now to what she does once she is then summoned, well the stories from those who claimed to have tried it and have summoned the demon they.....vary, some claims she attacks you, others say she just appears, other more recent players I have talked to say she’s like a genie of sorts. but is this truly real and were did it come from??..

Well while the true origins are still up for debate among many people, but there are a multitude of theories as to the origins and some that do take a historical outlook to the name Bloody Mary. What I mean by that is Many think Bloody Mary may have been either one of the following historical women below,

* Elizabeth Bathory, who is also known as the "Queen of Blood," because she was actually supposedly convicted due to her murdering hundreds of young girls so she could bathe in their blood.

* Mary Worth, who was young witch born and died during the Salem witch trials, she was Executed for obvious reasons

but in my personal opinion NOMATTER which of them that it maybe they all seem to have a good reason to come back to cause pain and terror to the all of the living souls on earth..

Anyway so to find out if this legend is truly actually true I played it myself. I waited till 3:00am which is considered devils hour by many demonologist and ghost hunters, and I went into my bathroom lit a candle and said the name “bloody marry” three times (and I’ll be honest me being a believer in the unknown I was kinda very looking forward to something happening) however I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, but nothing happened except the candle flame flickering once.

But logically as an aspiring journalist, I didn’t want to just come to a conclusion on just one night so I repeated this game over a full weeks nights and got the same results over and over again. So to conclude, do I think that bloody marry is real?, honestly NO I don’t, but now surprisingly there is still ALOT of people out there who do think she exists and this game is actually real but for me,well it’s not.....well not anymore anyway, but now is it a fun game to play on Halloween.......ya I do.
