The Asylum

An encounter that defies comprehension

By Hussnain MalikPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

The abandoned asylum lay on the outskirts of the woodland, its decaying walls and broken windows bearing witness to the atrocities that had occurred within its walls. The facility was supposed to have been closed down following a series of inexplicable deaths and disappearances, and the souls of the victims still haunted the structure to this day.

Despite the rumors, a party of thrill-seekers proceeded to investigate the asylum in the hopes of finding evidence of the paranormal. Their headlamps threw spooky shadows on the walls as they moved down the dark halls. The air became colder as they descended deeper into the asylum, and the sounds of their own footfall became muffled.

One of the group members screamed, pointing to the end of the corridor. They could make out the silhouette of a woman in a white gown standing motionless in the shadows. The group came to a halt, their hearts thumping in their chests. As they neared the figure, they realized it was a ghostly apparition rather than a genuine person. All of them were scared because of this.

The apparition called to them, and they felt an unstoppable pull toward her. Their spotlights flickered as they pursued her along the corridors. The apparition vanished into thin air as they neared a massive wooden door, leaving the group standing in front of it, their hearts hammering. They felt like their heart is about to burst because of this event.

They pushed open the door with shaky hands, exposing a gloomy room illuminated only by moonlight flowing in through the windows. As they entered, they felt a terrible presence watching them, as if it were closing in on them from all sides.

The gang was suddenly thrown into darkness, and they could hear creaking floorboards beneath their feet. They knew that they were not alone in the room when they felt something brush past them. They could hear a faint whisper in their ears and felt a cold breath on the back of their necks.

The gang began to fear, their thoughts racing with pictures of the atrocities that had occurred in the asylum. They could hear footsteps approaching them and realized they needed to get out before it was too late. Each one of them was feeling that something bad is coming.

As they attempted to return to the entrance, they became lost in a maze of passageways that seemed to shift and change with each step they took. They could hear laughing and shouts ringing down the halls and knew they weren't alone in the asylum.

They wandered into a vast room packed with dusty furniture and cobweb-covered stuff, just as they believed they'd never find their way out. A figure stood in the middle of the room, its face veiled by shadows. The facial colors of the group were showing how much they're scared.

The group attempted to back away, but the figure approached, its steps slow and deliberate. As it neared, they could hear chains rattling and knew they were about to face a horror beyond their worst imaginations.

The gang lunged at the figure with a final burst of courage, their headlights flashing brightly in the darkness. They could feel the force of their strikes striking the figure and see it fade away into the shadows.

As the gang staggered out of the asylum, they could feel the horror they had witnessed weighing heavy on their minds. They were well aware that they had encountered something beyond their comprehension, something that would haunt them for the rest of their lives. And when they returned their gaze to the abandoned asylum, they knew they would.
