The Airport Witch
woman in need or a witch in hunger?, story of an airport employee that changed his life

This story is from 1970's when an airport worker left for his night shift and never knew this night would completely change his usual life...
Mr. Akram used to work at Karachi Airport in the era when airports used to be little far away from the localities, around midnight he left for airport on his bicycle as usual, the roads were empty, the air was calm, everything was dark and peddle by peddle he was moving towards his work place. Mr. Akram never saw any traffic or people around the route he used to travel on, but that night was not in the favor of his innocence.
Mr. Akram saw a woman in distance who was completely covered in white and saw that she was roaming here and there as if she was finding someone and seemed afraid. Mr. Akram thought in mind that he had never seen anyone there ever before so what that woman was doing there at that hour of the night, he went confused. He tried to ignore the woman because his shift was about to star and he continued to peddle his bicycle. Soon he reached a point where that woman was walking next to him, her face was also covered and out of nowhere she started crying, she said "my husband picks me up from here every night and its been hours i'm waiting for him and no one is here, i'm getting afraid, please stay here and help me". Mr Akram was listening to all this and after some meters he stopped his cycle and told that woman that he cannot do anything for her as he is running late for his work, but that women continued to beg for help.
Eventually Mr. Akram got tired and said " i can't do anything here but i can drop you to area around the parking lot of the airport where you'll find people and lights, and if your husband cames finding you here, he'll come there as well and you won't be alone there at least". The woman agreed and sat behind him and soon Mr.Akram began to move his cycle towards the airport and after some time he noticed that by every fraction of each peddle the weight of the cycle was increasing and n0w he was using more pressure to move the cycle and eventually that woman started telling Mr.Akram that her husband didn't come since years, and she was standing there waiting for him every night and still he didn't come, then she began telling stories of late 1940's that how people were killed during the partition between india and pakistan and at that time as well she was standing there waiting for him...
Mr.Akram went confused and asked the woman that what nonsense was she speaking and as soon as he looked behind he saw that the increasing pressure of the cycle was due to her backward feet that she was rubbing on the road, Mr.Akram was shocked to see the woman, he left his cycle and ran away as fast as he could and the woman started chasing him saying that "don't leave me, you said you will help me come back".... he was freaked out and continued to run away from the witch
Mr.Akram rushed and accidentaly smashed into a military vehicle that was patrolling and the officers were confused to see him in sweat and deep breaths, after calming him down Mr.akram told them about the incident he had experienced and officers refused to belive and said come with us we'll see what it is. Upon reaching officers only found his cycle laying on the road and nothing unusual was in site
Mr.Akram was safely dropped to his house, and gossips tell that he converted his night shifts and only worked before sun set later his life. One midnight lift completely changed his life and as an individual you never know if your'e encountering with a human or other living entity that can bring you warm or can bring you cold...
