The Abandoned Amusement Park
What can be scary in an amusement park?
There were only three things in life that truly mattered to Sam (Sameer) which were kakak adrak wali chai (strong ginger tea), playing pubg all day and photography.
Being a two-time winner in the ‘Nikon Photo Contest’,hhe Sam became extremely impatient about not having clicked anything authenticate and impressive this time.
Looking out of the window, the warm winter sunrays falling on his bike shining brightly, Sam’s mind was racing ahead just like an untamed horse.
With a leap, he stood up, kept the chai cup aside, got dressed in a second, packed his camera gear pack, pulled out his bike keys and in moment it was Vrrrrrooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmm!
He drove for many hours, until in the late evening hours his came across an abandoned “Amusement Park”.
Sam had a gut feeling that this was a perfect spot to click, and with an instinct of a hattrick in ‘Nikon Photo Contest’ he parked his bike in the empty parking lot and got in without any hesitation.
This place was in the middle of nowhere, far from the city hustle and away the countryside buzz.
The park was in the heart of tall overgrown grass stretching across a wide area and swaying around in the winds wildly indicating an incoming storm.
The buildings looked pale, windows panes cracked and glass scattered all around.
There were distant creaking sounds all over
Sneaking in was easy considering it wasn’t fenced off or anything but it was clear that this place had an interesting story once upon a time which is now completely torn down.
Still at that time mostly everything was still in place and upright but it has become so much creepier now.
Sam could feel tiny rain droplets but it didn’t seem to bother him, he was dressed for rain anyway.
Walking around the park was creepy but the first really disturbing thing didn’t happen until Sam heard something Scudder behind him, he looked keenly, eyes fixed on the bushes in the dark couldn’t make out whether it was a person or an animal but something was definitely there.
He didn’t see anything though so choosing to move forward and ignore it, he started snapping constant pictures with his Nikkon gear.
He snapped away at different buildings, the crumbled roller-coaster, the big red slide which was now covered with mud stains,
Then there were buildings like the bathrooms, the main office, the maintenance section were shacks were filled with filth,
Sam first choose to start with bathrooms, don’t know why but for some reason he felt it would be interesting. Disgusting right!
He stepped into the men’s side of the bathroom which was pitch dark inside, the lights no longer worked, so he had to turn on the flash of his camera.
He took a picture of the sink placed adjacent to each other near the mirror and checked the image quality, it was perfect.
He heard a slight little ‘ting’ sound that came from the other side of the bathroom at the stalls, he called out “Someone in here?”.
There were two stalls, he went over to the first stall and pushed the stall door slowly, he aimed his camera into the stall and took a picture, the light revealed nothing but a toilet in the stall.
He moved on to the next stall and pushed the door open, with this one he was having trouble in drawing up the nerve to take the picture.
He took five seconds before pressing the button and the camera light flashed and in that brief moment of light, he saw a tall figure looming down at him.
He shut the stall door and screamed as he ran back outside to the light and to his bike driving off immediately.
He drove until he could find a shelter from rain, and checked the picture he captured in that stall.
In the picture was a figure probably six feet five standing in front of the toilet for some reason the face was blurry.
He couldn’t see any distinguishing featured but it seemed to be a man as he browsed to see some of the other photos, he picked up on something disturbing.
In four photos out of ten he found what appeared to be a person hiding somewhere in the distance but always seemed to be staring at him, in two pictures something was there in the woods and two others it was behind building or rides.
Sam never transferred these pictures to his computer but till date he still thinks those photos are in his camera.
He quite frankly never wants to see those pictures again.
