This one is considered haunted in a movie-like way, making it stand true to its name. A popular shooting location for movies, Ramoji Film City has seen everything from actors who confess of seeing some "strange figures" in the mirror while getting ready for a shoot, huge chandeliers falling from roofs during film shoots to lightmen complaining of some invisible force that tries to push them down from the parapets. Security guards at the Ramoji Film City become a tad more cautious once the sun sets, for the place is believed to be haunted by spirits of soldiers who died here in the many wars during the reign of Nizams.

The film city is the brainchild of media tycoon and film producer Ramoji Rao, who wanted to build a studio similar to the ones in Hollywood. On procuring the land, he signed art director Nitish Roy to design the complex. According to an executive, the builders kept the land, which at that time consisted of jungles and mountainous terrain, intact, without removing one tree or mountain. It was built in Hyderabad in 1996 in the outskirts of the city in Abdullahpurmet. Maa Naannaku Pelli (1997) was the first film shot in the studio.

In an interview with a media portal, Taapsee Pannu had revealed how she felt something in her room. She said, “Firstly, I am extremely scared of ghosts, and I do believe that they exist. Personally, I felt something in my room when I was staying at a hotel in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. I had heard stories earlier of the hotel being haunted. I was alone in the room when I heard some footsteps echoing. Since I am a scaredy-cat when it comes to ghosts, all I did was convince myself that I was imagining things and literally forced myself to sleep. There was no way I could fight a ghost.”

Eye Witnessed Paranormal Activities

The Ramoji Film City has witnessed a lot of paranormal activities during the making of the films and serials that have been shot there. Actors admit seeing some “unfamiliar figures” in the mirror while preparing for a shoot. While the lightmen confess to some hidden power that attempts to push them towards the bottom.

The reports have claimed that the lights going off randomly. It has also been claimed of uncommon Urdu scribblings on the mirrors. The film team frequently denies taking shots around evening time here. The crew has stated their gadgets were being destroyed repeatedly, their food to be found half ate when left for a while.

Strange voices and whispers in the urdu language have been heard by the tourists who stayed in the guest house. Along with the actors, the guests and the tourists who stayed in the hotels felt the presence of some strange supernatural power among them. Some even witnessed the gateways getting locked by themselves.

Workers who have been working there have claimed that the film studio is haunted by the restless souls of the soldiers who died in the war. However, the authorities at ramoji film city have not agreed to any of these reports or the claims. The actual truth behind the largest studio complex is still an unsolved mystery.
