Daniel sees his wife in her bathing suit running towards the lake. He sternly warns her not to get in there.

“Honey, you know that there is no swimming allowed in the lake. Please don’t go in there.”

“Listen, we didn’t just spend all of this money for a lake house, not to use the damn lake! I’ve done my research and there’s been no record of any type of contamination and there hasn’t been a drowning here in over twenty-years! So they can fine me or whatever but I’m getting in this lake!”

So Katie ignores her husband and dives headfirst into the lake. Daniel just shakes his head as he watches his wife swim away.

A few minutes into swimming Katie is pulled under the water. She doesn’t know what is pulling her in but she cannot fight it. After struggling for a while she decides to give up. This was it. She was going to die.

As she felt her body slowly going to the bottom of the lake she realized that she was still breathing. Then that’s when she saw her. A hideous looking dead woman. Maybe twenty-years old. Long greasy dirty hair. Eyes bulging out of her caved in skeletal face. Her teeth were long and decayed. There was also a long bloody scar across her neck. She grabs Katie and pulls her face to face.

“I need your help.” she says to Katie in a nasty, raspy old man voice.

“I can’t help you. I think that you may have already drowned here.” Katie replies.

The dead woman then lifts her head and reveals the scar on her neck as it opens up and blood comes rushing out.

“Does it look like I drowned!” she screams. “Now are you gonna help me or not!”

Katie looks at her in fear. “I can’t, I don’t know what you want me to do.”

“Then how do you know you can’t do it? Never mind I’ll do it myself!” the woman exclaims.

Katie all of a sudden starts to feel like she’s finally drowning. She starts thinking that the dead woman was just a dream. Maybe her mind was distracting her from the reality that she was about to die. So she slowly closed her eyes and awaited her death.

Then all of a sudden she hears Daniel’s voice.

“Katie, are you ok?”

She’s so excited to be alive. She grabs him tightly and kisses him.

“Oh baby thank you! You saved my life!”

“What are you talking about?” he asks, very confused.

“Wasn’t I drowning?” she asks him.

Daniel starts feeling around her head to see if there was a bump or something. He was thinking that maybe she might have hit her head on a rock or something.

“I don’t know if you were drowning or not. I came out here and you were sleeping right here on the ground.”

Katie gets up. She feels fine. The next morning she walks out to the lake and looks at it. She’s shocked to see a beautiful young blonde haired girl in her reflection that clearly wasn’t her. Then that same reflection quickly changed into the ugly dead woman.

Daniel comes to tell her that it’s time for breakfast. Katie grabs her husband and shoves his head in the water. Holding him while trying to drown him. In her head she keeps hearing the dead woman’s voice saying kill him. Daniel fights her off and looks at her.

“Katie what the hell is wrong with you!”

Katie then screams back at him “Julie Ledecky! My name is Julie Ledecky!”

Just then Daniel looks to see a two cars pull up and people going into the big house on the lake. He takes Katie into the house and sits her down. He gives her some water and tells her he’ll be right back. He then went to see what was going on at the other house.

While Daniel was gone Katie went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. At first she sees herself. Then she sees the young beautiful blonde that she saw in the lake reflection. She decides to talk to her.

“Julie Ledecky is it?”

“Yes it is.” the mirror replies.

“Why did you try to kill my husband?”

“That was just a test to see if it really works. Now that I know that it does, we can kill them.”

“I’m not going to kill anyone!”

Just then Katie runs frantically into the kitchen, grabs a knife and puts it to her own throat. That’s when she hears that nasty voice in her head again.

“You see, it’s really not up to you!”

Daniel then comes back in. He slowly walks towards Katie.

“Hey baby, are you ok?”

“Yeah I’m fine. Sorry about that earlier. I don’t know what came over me. I think maybe I did bump my head yesterday.”

“Well get this. The mayor and his wife are staying at that big house down the road this weekend. He’s also brought the police chief and his wife Lisa.”

“Ok so what. Don’t worry I won’t be getting back in the lake.”

“It’s not that. The police chief’s wife's name is Lisa Ledecky.”

Daniel and Katie look up Lisa Ledecky online and Katie is shocked by what she sees. The first thing that pops up on the screen is a picture of the young blonde from the lake. The article tells about Julie Ledecky, a twenty-year old woman who went missing ten years ago and was never found. Katie decides to tell her husband what happened to her in the lake.

Daniel wants no parts of the situation and tries to encourage his wife to stay out of it.

“Well all we have to do is make it through the weekend. Then they’ll leave. I promise you I will call and report this on Monday.”

“Them showing up here is not a coincidence. They’re here to make sure we’re not going into the lake. I at least have to tell her mother what’s going on. Let’s just go over there and see if I can get her alone and talk to her.”

Daniel reluctantly agrees and they go over to the house.

During the introductions Katie starts to hear Julie in her head.

“They all must die!”

They have dinner and Lisa and the mayor’s wife Karen go into the kitchen to get dessert. That’s when Katie takes her chance to talk to Lisa.

She pulls Lisa to the side and tries to tell her about Julie.

“Hey, I think I may know what happened to your daughter.”

As she says that she hears Julie in her head once again.

“Shut the fuck up! She knows. She’s one of them! We must kill her!”

As Lisa starts to answer Julie takes matters into her own hands so to speak. Katie quickly grabs a knife and slits Karen’s throat. Then she grabs Lisa kicking and screaming and drags her out of the house.

The men rush into the kitchen to find Karen dead on the floor. They then grab flashlights and run out towards the lake looking for the other women. Meanwhile Katie has Lisa out by the edge of the lake. She then stabs her and drops her to the ground. Then Julie starts to talk to her mother.

“Hello mother.”

“What are you talking about. You’re crazy, my daughter is dead!”

“I sure am and you would know wouldn’t you? You knew what he was doing to me all of those years. You knew I was going to tell and you let them kill me didn’t you?!” Her face now looking like Julie

“It was over. You were going to college. He was going to be chief of police. He was paying for your school. He was marrying me. Everything was going to be ok!”

“And I was going to ruin it right! I was going to destroy your pretty little life!”

“Baby it was an accident. They were just supposed to scare you. I never meant for you to die baby I swear!”

Katie then rips off her shirt. Her naked torso starts to become bruised. Then her neck slowly splits open blood leaking out and running down her body.

“Well I’m sorry that the same thing can’t be said for you. You’re gonna die tonight and it will be intentional.”

Katie then grabs a log from the ground and starts beating Lisa in her head repeatedly. Long after Lisa is clearly dead Katie is continuing to hit her. She can see the light from the flashlights. She can hear the men screaming her and Lisa’s names. Katie has to quickly try to take control back away from Julie. She gets control just in time and pushes Lisa’s dead body into the water. She then throws in the knife, lies on the ground and calls the men over to her.

“Hurry he’s got Lisa. I don’t know where he’s taking her!” Katie screams as she lies on the ground.

The mayor and police chief run off into the woods as Daniel stays with his wife.

“Honey what happened? Are you ok?”

Katie gets up and brushes herself off.

“Yes Daniel, I'm fine. Now come on, you have to help me.”

“Help you with what?”

“We have to throw Karen’s body in the lake.”

“Wait a minute. Are you saying that you did this?”

“No! Julie is doing it and I can’t stop her. So either you help us or she’ll kill you too.”

“Listen, they’ve already called the police.”

“That's why we don’t have time to waste!”

Katie was still trying to convince her husband to help her when Julie took back over. She quickly grabbed a branch from the tree and hit Daniel in the head knocking him unconscious.

“Don’t worry he’ll live.” she tells Katie

“Julie, we can't get away with this. The police are on their way. It’s too late.”

“Oh no they aren't,'' Julie replies. The lake will take care of that.

Katie looks over and notices that the tide of the lake was rapidly rising. They run into the kitchen and hear on the radio that all roads to the lake have been flooded.

“See, I told you.” Katie hears Julie’s voice say.

Katie then drags Karen’s body to the lake and dumps it in. Then she sits in the dark by the lake and waits for the men to return to the home.

She watches as the men return to the home. She listens as the chief receives the call that the roads are flooded.

“Well mayor that’s it. No one’s coming. I guess we’ll have to wait and continue our search in the morning.”

“Our search? You know that whoever killed them is either long gone by now or he’s coming back.”

“Or he’s already come back.” the chief points out that Karen’s body is gone.

“He knows we’ve called the police. He’s probably getting rid of the evidence.”

“‘I’ll be right back, I'm going to go check on the Thompsons.”

“Fuck the Thompsons I hope their dead. They’re the reason that this has happened in the first place.”

“Ok well I’m going to take a shower.”

He heads upstairs and Katie sneaks into the house and follows him. She sneaks into the bathroom and stands outside of the shower for a few seconds. Then she goes into the medicine cabinet and grabs a toothbrush.

She pulls the curtain back and jams the toothbrush right into the chief's ear. He falls bumping his head on the tub and passes out. He is awakened at the edge of the lake tied up. He looks up and sees Katie standing over him.

“It’s you! How the hell did you get me out here?”

“Well there are two of us.”

“Two of you?”

“Yeah, say hi Julie.”

The chief looks around and doesn’t see anyone else.

Julie then starts speaking to him.

“What is it? Do you not remember me daddy?”

“What are you talking about?”

“All of those nights. Here let me remind you.”

She leans in and kisses him. His eyes start to roll into the back of his head and he starts to foam from the mouth. His body starts shaking violently. Then he starts to see the visions. He sees himself on top of him. He’s choking himself and screaming “ call me daddy.” Then the man on top of him turns into the beautiful young Julie. She looks down at him and says “do you like that?”

Then her voice changes into the nasty old man's voice and she turns into the dead and decaying Julie and starts screaming “Who’s daddy now!”

Then Katie backs up. He tries to scream for help but his lips are extremely deformed. Like they were melted onto his face. He musters everything that he can to whisper the words “I’m sorry.”

Katie kisses him on the cheek and whispers “I know you are.”

She then shows him what he’s tied up with. There’s a microwave, next to him plugged into a generator. Katie slowly walks over to the generator and turns it on.

Katie then tries to reason with Julie.

“What are you going to wait until the tide comes in?”

“Nope!” Julie replies

Then Katie turns to see the lake wash over the chief causing him to be severely electrocuted. Then the tide goes back out revealing his horribly burnt body. The lake then washes over him one more time as it takes him away. Katie then turns and walks slowly back to the house. Then she walks in on the mayor. As soon as she gets into the home he shoots her in the stomach.

“This is all your fault.” he says

“You and your husband just had to buy that house, didn't you. Just had to be by that fucking lake. Now because of you my wife is dead and now so will you be.”

Just as he walks over to shoot her Daniel tackles him from behind and takes the gun. He then orders the mayor into a chair.

“You’re making a big mistake!” the mayor exclaims. “Do you know who I am?”

“He doesn’t, but I surely do.” Katie shouts as she stands up.

She then lifts up her shirt. Her flesh from the bullet wound starts to open up and the bullet falls out onto the floor. Then the wound closes itself back up.

The mayor looks at her in shock.

“What are you?” he asks.

“The question is more like who am I. The answer is Julie Ledecky!”

“What?”

“Oh you can’t see it. Maybe it’s because there’s something in your eye.”

In a flash she grabs a straw and stabs it into his eye and then uses it to suck his eyeball out of his head. Then she says “That’s better now let me show you.”

Katie then blows into his eye socket. He starts to foam at the mouth and shake violently. Then he starts to see visions of three men violently beating him. Then they lie him on the ground and as one of the men leans over him he turns into the beautiful blonde Julie Ledecky and then into the dead one as she slits his throat.

He wakes up to find himself still in the chair.

“I had nothing to do with that. I swear!” He screams.

Katie then looks over at Daniel.

“Honey the gun please.”

Daniel hands her the gun and she puts it into the mayor’s empty eye socket. She then continuously pulls the trigger. The gun keeps firing, shooting blood and guts all over the room until his head is completely gone.

Katie then looks at her husband.

“Daniel, we need to get him to the lake.” she tells him.

Then she hears Julie’s voice.

“No, the lake will get him herself.”

That’s when water starts gushing into the house quickly filling up the room. Daniel runs to the door trying to open it!

“Honey, come on we’ve got to get out of here!”

As the room fills completely with water Daniel realizes that he’s not drowning at all. He looks around and sees the dead bodies of the chief, the mayor and their wives floating around. Then he sees the dead rotting body of Julie Ledecky. She grabs him and whispers “Thanks for your help.”

All of the water and the bodies empty out of the house leaving Katie and Daniel alone on the floor. They both wake up to the sun glaring through the window of their own home. Then the doorbell rings. Daniel answers it to see the police.

“Hey what’s up?”

“We got a call last night from the mayor saying that his wife was attacked here. We went over to the house this morning but there was nothing there. No sign of them at all. We were wondering if you guys heard anything.”

“Um no we think maybe you guys were pranked. My wife and I were here all night and we didn’t see anyone.”

“Ok well you have a nice day.”

Daniel then looks at Katie.

“There’s no trace of them at all. The cars, bodies, everything is gone.”

“Yeah they belong to the lake just like they did Julie!”

“So. what now?”

“Well I don’t know about you but I think I’m gonna go for a swim.”

Daniel watches as Katie walks slowly towards the lake. She slowly starts to decay. Then he sees the decayed Julie look back at him and smile.

The End.
