Sara slowly opened her eyes. She found herself in a dark room lying on the floor. She changed her position and got up, using her hands for support. She stood to her feet and started to look around, trying to figure out where she was. Sara was completely taken aback when the realization hit her that she was in a large, old, dusty classroom, filled with old desks and chairs. She immediately recognized the place. It was her own school storeroom.

Sara was a young teenager, an extremely intelligent girl, living her normal life until the day she agreed to go to the restricted area of her school - an old washroom. There had been rumors that a girl committed suicide there and since then it had been labeled as the haunted area of the school. Many students had reported before that they heard screams and saw someone. The authorities declared it a restricted area after those incidents and no one was allowed to go near that place. Hence it was closed and not visited by anyone for years until the day when Sara made a bet with her friends. (The only brave girls who went there). The other girls stayed behind cheering her on as she entered the bathroom.
It was a chilling place, but nothing too out of the ordinary for an abandoned location. It was just a bit creepier with broken doors, crumbling walls, and cobwebs hung in the corners. Knowing the fact that someone had died there even intensified the atmosphere and gave it a very spooky negative vibe. She felt as if someone was staring at her although no one was visibly present there. After some time, she went out of the bathroom, showing everyone the proof of her bravery.
She didn’t understand the dimension of the mistake she had made.
From that day onward, Sara faced problems with her sleep. She started having lucid dreams. But this time it was not a normal lucid dream. Things she experienced felt more real than a mere bad dream.
~
The whole building was exceptionally quiet and dark. In the silence, the only sound she could hear was her own heartbeat. She began to explore the place as she had no idea what was she doing there. It was all dark. After half an hour of being stuck in that place, distant cries reached her ears. She followed the voices. with her every step forward, the sound was getting intense and intense. Cries transformed into sobbing and soon into desperate screams. Someone was screaming out loud so badly that Sara’s heart pounded in her chest. She could feel how fast her heart was beating against her chest. She didn’t want to move further but she kept on going, passing several yards away, to where those screams were leading her. her eyes widened when she realized Those screams were coming from the same abandoned restricted area. With fear gripping her, she moved further into the bathroom, taking each step reluctantly but cautiously to find the source of the screams.
She saw a glimpse of something moving in the dark but she couldn’t make out what it was. However, it was enough to give her chills. She took a few steps forward to have a clear look. there, before her, She saw a girl dressed in a tattered and blood stained school uniform. Blood was oozing from the wound on her throat. She had deep cuts all over her face and body. Dark long hairs were covering her face. Her skin was extremely pale. She was crying while sitting on the toilet seat. Suddenly that girl focused her attention on Sara, fixing her eyes on her. the girl was looking up at her with a cryptic gaze. Sara’s heart skipped a beat. That stare sent a shiver down her spine leaving her paralyzed by fear. That girl’s eyes were entirely white. She was holding a piece of glass in her hand. She then slowly began to crawl toward Sara. Her screams had now changed into sinister laughter. Sara Awakened from her trance and got back to her senses. She started to run. That girl was chasing her while laughing maniacally.
Sara lunged down the hallway and ran as fast as her legs could carry her, expecting to escape her. but when she looked down at the length of the hallway. That girl was still after her. She continued to run and run as her life was completely dependent on it. She quickly ran inside a random classroom slamming the door shut behind her. with trembling hands she locked the door. Her heart was pounding out of her chest and she felt utterly breathless.
“No… this is not possible, this can’t be happening,” Sara muttered to herself, “This is just a dream. It has to be a dream.” She was trying to shake herself awake and regain control of her brain but all in vain. She heard her freaky laughter again. After a couple of minutes, her laughter stopped. It was all quiet again when all of a sudden, she started beating on the door. Sara started taking steps backward, trembling in fear. In no time that girl’s spirit shattered the lock and left the door open wide. She was standing right in front of Sara while staring at her with those scary eyes. The intensity of fear made Sara completely unable to move. She was screaming at the top of her lungs with a deathly pale face. “Go away. You are not real.” while that girl was slowly approaching Sara.
………
In a panic, she made a desperate decision. Sara jumped out of the window behind, thinking that would be a way to escape this nightmare and make it all back to normal but little did she know it was just the opposite.
The next morning Sara was found dead in her bed. Many of her bones were broken. Doctors said that she died because of a heart attack but they were not able to understand what actually happened to her. Her death left many questions unsolved. How and why, she died. But one thing was evident, that Sara never came back from her nightmare and was dead now.
