~Night Terror~
The wind outside howled, rattling against the windows.
I felt fear coil in my stomach and slide up my spine.
I peered out the window in the dining room, inky blackness blotted out the landscape.
I raised my shaky hand and pressed it against the cold glass, I knew, even before I saw, I knew they were there, I had seen them before and just like last time, like a song on replay, everything happened in startling deja vu.
A long twisted gnarled hand reached up and pressed itself to the otherside of the window, hand to hand, my small delicate pale skin against their weathered gnarled one. Their fingers inhumanly long and tapered in claws.
Tears began to drip down my face, I knew what was coming. I was powerless to stop it, just like last time… I would watch all I cherished ripped apart before my broken blue eyes.
I saw the face appear out of the darkness, coming into startling clarity.
The eyes where empty sockets, the flesh inside the sockets was covered in writhing maggots, they ate at the bloodied flesh where eyes used to reside.
Atop its head was stringy, dark greasy hair falling down just past it’s boney shoulder.
Apart of the flesh around it’s jaw was ripped away, showing it’s jagged pointed teeth, the flesh itself hung from where it’s jaw used top be, torn and bloodied.
Many places on it’s naked body where rotting with decay, maggots and puss oozing from sores and dead flesh.
It had skin hanging from it’s strangely shaped bones, bones that made it appear as if it’s neck was snapped, its arms and legs also crooked as if broken.
It let out a loud moaning howl, as it it was the wind crying in agony. I could see tears drip from it’s empty eyes sockets.
Bile rose up in the back of my throat, burning my mouth as I dropped to me knees and heaved up the contents of my stomach.
Despite the lack of eyes, I knew it could see me, I knew it could more than just see me, it could see into my soul.
With another loud howl the window beneath it's hand shattered all around me, cutting and imbedding itself into my skin. I cried out, moving quickly away from the broken window, my feet being sliced open by the glass beneath it.
Tears dripped hotly down my face.
As the creature began to practically slide itself into the house, almost bonelessly, it’s long broken body melting through the window, crawling into my home, my place of safety, no longer safe from the horrifying grasp of this hideous being before me.
It looked at me with it’s empty eye sockets, grinning with it’s half deformed jaw. It let out another long howling moan.
Behind me I heard screams of fear echo, I knew those screams would haunt me for eternity. I turned my back to the creature, sobbing painfully as I looked to see the ghost white, horrified faces of those I loved.
I felt a bony hand slide over my body and pin me back against the creature that had come through the window.
Frozen in bitter fear I watched in horror as with multiple loud wailing screams, the large windows behind my loved ones were shattered, glass flying everywhere, raining down around the family clustered in the living room next to the dining room where I stood.
The wailing screams and moans became so loud they almost drowned out the screams of all who I cared about.
They turned in time to see more creatures pouring into the house, sagging, maggot and puss covered skin ripped away in places, showing off bones. The creatures sounded in pain as the dragged themselves across the floor, my loved ones also rooted in place by fear.
Finally finding my voice I screamed, begging them to run, to get away, but they could not hear me.
I watched as the creatures reached my loved ones, they tore them apart with their hands and began to devour their flesh.
Still held in place, this creature wanting me to watch as my family was being devoured, piece by piece, their bones crunching in the mouths of these monsters.
My sobs and screams broken as I was forced to watch them murder my precious family.
I felt the pain in my heart like a knife, bile rising in my throat.
“P-please.” I whimpered, begging…wanting them to stop, wanting them to end me.
Almost every piece of flesh and bone was consumed by these creatures, they began to howl again as they turned to leave, blood soaking the floors of the living room and the shards of glass, the occasional piece of flesh and muscle strewn across the floor.
I felt the hissing laugh in my ear from the one that held me, suddenly it’s hand shoved it’s way through my spine and out my stomach. I looked down to see blood and intestines dripping from the hand that had reached all the way through my body. I gasped, choking on blood as it took a fist full of my insides and pulled it back through my body.
Agony rushed through me, the creature let my body crumble to the floor, blood filling my lungs, choking me.
The pain was so great I could feel myself losing consciousness.
Relief brought tears to my eyes, I did not want to live in a world where my loved ones had been murdered, I was glad that I would soon be dead.
The blood and bile in my throat and lungs cut of my air.
Tears dripping down my eyes as blackness took over.
I woke up gasping and crying.
