Murmurs In Obscurity: A Story Of Mysteries
Blackwood was a quaint town shrouded in mystery and supernatural happenings. At the heart of the town was the Holloway Estate, a once luxurious abode that melted away with time and stood in eerie silence. In the murky woods and foggy slopes surrounding the estate, people reported hearing whispers that felt creeped out by the entire region. It was said that ominous candles lit up on winter nights and flickered at random places in the estate, sending shudders down the spines of citizens who dared approach it. The windows of the estate radiated voices of souls in distress but the residents of the town claimed they could never really hear it.
From the very start, Eleanor Hayes never saw eye to eye with apparition sightings. As a trying columnist, she thrived off the uncovering of facts. A tip that spoke about an estate came her way and with it, she stood to gain a great deal of fame so she jumped at the opportunity. The note was exact, devoid of any details, stating: “Come alone. NOON. The truth is waiting.”
Eleanor entered the estate at the stroke of midnight, equipped with nothing but a flashlight and her tape recorder. The place was extremely dark and filled with layers of dust, the wooden floor's creaks resonating underneath her cautious steps. As she advanced further into the house, she couldn't believe her ears, a faint whisper, almost inaudible, came through the recorder.
She stayed in her current position without budging.
