MALEVOLENCE

VENGEANCE BEYOND THE GRAVE

By Salini Kathir Published 3 years ago 6 min read

Once upon a time, there was a small town in America called Ravenwood. The town was known for its beautiful forests and vast acres of farmland. However, there was something dark and mysterious about Ravenwood that the locals didn't like to talk about - the haunting of the old abandoned farmhouse on the outskirts of town.

The farmhouse had been abandoned for years, and there were rumors that a family had been brutally murdered inside. The locals believed that the spirits of the deceased family members still haunted the place, and anyone who dared to enter would never return.

One night, a group of teenagers decided to explore the abandoned farmhouse. They parked their car on the side of the road and made their way through the overgrown bushes and weeds towards the old house.

As soon as they entered the house, they felt a chill run down their spines. The air was thick with an eerie silence that seemed to suffocate them. Suddenly, they heard a faint whisper, as if someone was speaking in their ear. They turned around to find no one there.

The group was starting to feel uneasy, but they continued to explore the house. They climbed the creaky staircase and entered one of the bedrooms. It was dark, and the only light came from a small lamp in the corner.

As they looked around the room, they noticed a shadowy figure standing in the doorway. It was the shape of a woman, but her features were distorted and twisted. The group tried to run, but the door slammed shut, trapping them inside.

They were stuck in the room with the ghostly figure, and it soon became apparent that she wasn't alone. The sounds of footsteps echoed through the hallway, and the group could hear whispers and moans coming from all around them.

As the night wore on, the haunting grew more and more intense. The group was terrified and begged for help, but no one came. Finally, at dawn, the group managed to escape the farmhouse, never to return again.

To this day, locals in Ravenwood still avoid the old farmhouse, believing that the spirits of the murdered family still haunt the place. And on certain nights, it's said that you can still hear the whispers and moans coming from within the old abandoned house.

The group of teenagers who had entered the abandoned farmhouse never spoke of their experience to anyone. They couldn't explain what they had witnessed and were left traumatized by the haunting.

However, rumors began to spread around town that the farmhouse was cursed, and many people reported seeing strange figures and lights coming from the old house at night.

One evening, a paranormal investigator from a neighboring town decided to investigate the haunting of the old farmhouse. He arrived at the house armed with his equipment and began to conduct his investigation.

As he walked through the house, he picked up on some strange readings on his equipment. Suddenly, he heard a loud bang, and the doors of the house slammed shut, trapping him inside.

The investigator tried to find a way out, but the doors wouldn't budge. Then, he saw a figure standing in the corner of the room. It was the shape of a woman, but she appeared to be floating in the air.

The figure began to approach him, and the investigator realized that he was in grave danger. He tried to run, but the doors were still locked. The figure continued to get closer and closer, and the investigator knew that he had to do something.

He pulled out his camera and began to snap photos of the ghostly figure. Suddenly, the doors opened, and he ran out of the house, feeling relieved to have escaped.

When the investigator developed the photos he had taken, he found that they contained clear images of the ghostly figure he had seen in the house. The photos were circulated around town, and the haunting of the old farmhouse became the talk of the town once again.

Years went by, and the abandoned farmhouse on the outskirts of Ravenwood became nothing more than a local legend. The haunting had been forgotten by most, except for those who had witnessed it firsthand or had family members who had experienced it themselves.

One summer, a group of college students decided to rent out the abandoned farmhouse as a weekend getaway. They were intrigued by the legends and wanted to see if there was any truth to the stories.

As they arrived at the farmhouse, they could feel an eerie energy surrounding the area. They unpacked their bags and settled in, but soon strange things began to happen.

Doors would slam shut on their own, and strange whispers could be heard in the night. The students began to feel like they were being watched, and some even claimed to have seen ghostly figures lurking in the shadows.

As the night wore on, the haunting intensified. The students were terrified and begged to leave, but their car wouldn't start. It seemed as though they were trapped, with no way out.

Just when they thought all was lost, a group of locals appeared out of nowhere, brandishing crosses and holy water. They had come to perform an exorcism on the haunted farmhouse and drive out the evil spirits once and for all.

The exorcism was success temporarily, and the haunting of the abandoned farmhouse end that night. The college students were grateful to the locals who had saved them from the terrifying experience and left Ravenwood, never to return again.

From that day on, the abandoned farmhouse on the outskirts of Ravenwood remained empty, and no one dared to enter. However, a few years later, a wealthy businessman from the city bought the abandoned farmhouse and decided to renovate it to use it as his vacation home. He had heard about the rumors of a haunting, but he didn't believe in ghosts and thought the legends were just superstitions.

As the renovation works began, strange things started to happen. The workers would hear footsteps coming from empty rooms and saw tools moving on their own. Some even claimed to have seen apparitions of a woman dressed in white wandering around the house.

The businessman didn't pay much attention to these occurrences, thinking that they were just the result of the old, creaky house. However, things took a turn for the worse when his daughter, who was visiting with some friends, claimed to have been attacked by an invisible force.

The businessman, who was now scared for his family's safety, called a team of paranormal investigators to investigate the property. They set up cameras and recording equipment and began their investigation.

As they conducted their investigation, they picked up on unusual readings and heard strange noises that couldn't be explained. Then, they saw an apparition of a woman dressed in white standing at the top of the stairs, staring down at them.

The investigators knew that they had to act fast. They performed an exorcism on the house and managed to drive out the evil spirits that had been haunting it for so long.

The ghost of the woman in white who haunted the abandoned farmhouse had a tragic backstory that was revealed during the paranormal investigations.

It was discovered that the woman was named Elizabeth, and she had lived in the farmhouse with her husband and young daughter in the 1800s. Her husband had been a cruel and abusive man, and Elizabeth had suffered years of torment at his hands.

One night, after enduring yet another beating, Elizabeth decided that she had had enough. She grabbed her daughter and fled the farmhouse, hoping to start a new life without her abusive husband.

However, her husband caught up to her and killed both Elizabeth and their daughter in a fit of rage. Their bodies were buried in the backyard of the farmhouse, and their spirits were said to have remained there ever since, trapped in an endless cycle of haunting and revenge.

The investigation team found evidence of the burial site and reported their findings to the local authorities, who conducted a proper investigation and provided the victims with a proper burial.

With their spirits finally at peace, the haunting of the abandoned farmhouse came to an end, and Elizabeth and her daughter's tragic story became a cautionary tale of the dangers of domestic abuse.

The businessman sold the house soon after and vowed never to return to Ravenwood again. The abandoned farmhouse was left empty once again, and the legend of the haunting continued to be told for generations to come.
