In Silence She Screams, In Darkness She Shines
The cabin murders.
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. "The light from it's flame will guide their way through the darkness so they can find me here." She thought to herself as she looked around at the chaos that consumed this space where peace used to live. This cabin holds many secrets within it's bones and she is grateful that the walls can not talk. Not yet at least.
She sat quietly hoping that she did everything right going over all of the things the list required for her to do. She had put a check mark next to every line to confirm to herself that she had completed it all and did so over and over again. If this night was going to be a success everything had to be done with the utmost precision and attention to detail could not be sacrificed. Counting 6 check marks next to each numbered line she felt confident that this was going to be the night when she would finally shine.
She had heard the urban legend of the horrible things that happened to so many people in this very cabin. She didn't find it scary, it actually intrigued her to say the least. Since she never learned love in any form, all she knew was hate. She was left in a dumpster the day she was born at a rest stop off of the interstate that ran through this small rural town. She remained in the foster system her entire life. No one wanted to adopt a child with such a horrible birth defect she was rejected, hated and sometimes feared. She was beaten, raped, starved, tortured, and that was all before the age of 10. She would run away from these foster homes and take refuge in this cabin until they would eventually come and find her once again.
This place, this cabin, these walls they never rejected her or showed her any hatred they never judged or feared her, they simply welcomed her which gave her peace. Tonight will be unlike all the others and for that she was prepared.
Knock, knock, knock, the sound was music to her ears. Her heartbeat quickened and she felt a rush of energy surge from the depths of her core. "Let the show begin", she whispered to herself as she sat down into the bathtub she strategically had placed in the middle of the room. Knock, knock, knock, "well she said seems we have some impatient guests tonight" she said, to the shadow the candle brought to life behind her. She did not answer the door she simply stayed where she was. "Let them come in and get me, that's the way it has always been." she thought to herself. She lit candles and placed them all the way around the tub, 6 to be exact. The candles flames danced to the rhythm of the air that came from the the door as it burst open. She smiled," I thought you would never come." she exclaimed excitedly.
As if they all came together at one time, all of the guests she had invited came walking through the cabin door. She felt a huge sense of pride when each one of her guests stopped to admire her previous works of art. The look of pain and sadness was enough to satisfy the craving she had held onto for so very long. "Why stop there, I am hungry for more" she said out loud. As the shocked guests realized what was happening they turned to look at her as her screams sliced through the silence. She was speaking in Latin and they all were fixated on her movements as she took the razor blade from the edge of the tub and slid it through the side of her neck taking care not to go to deep. Blood poured down her naked body and quickly stained the tub with the red liquid. She screamed louder and more violent now as she cut into the other side of her neck. None of them moved, they stood frozen in fear as she had commanded them to do. She licked the blood from the razor and ran her bloody hands all over her face and body. As she stood she began to shine in the light the candle reflected off the blood all over her body.
She was quick and fierce with her movements, all the anger she held inside finally had a release. She viciously sliced through skin and hair and any other barrier that was meant to protect their insides from being exposed. She called them each by name and reminded them of what they had done to her in the past. She wanted them to know who was responsible for taking their loved ones away from them and now would be taking their lives. One by one they fell to the floor landing next to the rotting bodies of the ones they loved the most. Not one hint of skin showed through the layers of blood she now wore like a new cloak.
She then carved her name into the torsos of each lifeless body like artists sign their pieces. She wanted her name to be remembered when people would tell her story.

The red and blue flashing light were a welcomed vision for her to see. She had gotten her revenge on all of those who had done horrific things to her in the past. "May you all forever burn in hell for the evil things you did to me and other innocent children." she screamed. She threw down her blade and put her hands in the air as the police instructed her to do. She smiled and laughed for she knew that she had outdone herself this time. The people who had been killed in the past were done by her, they were the people who came to the cabin to bring her back to the hands of the ones who they knew were torturing her. She led them back to that cabin where she would greet them with the same blade that ended all of their pathetic lives. After 10 years her list was finally completed and she became the most talked about and glorified Urban Legend in history. 30 bodies in total.
Her body still shined through the darkness illuminated by the red and blue flashing lights as they escorted her to the police car. She had never felt happiness until tonight. "Revenge is bittersweet and a dish best when served cold", she said proudly. Those were the words that she had waited her entire life to say.
