I Woke Up—and the Dream Left Something Behind

This actually happened to me. And I still don’t know how.

By MohammadAmin YariPublished 7 months ago 1 min read

It was the day of an online exam. 3 PM sharp.

At 2:00 PM, I set up everything: my textbook, my notes, and my calculator, all laid out neatly on my desk. I sat in my chair and told myself, "Just 45 minutes of rest, then I’ll wake up and take the test."

Instead of going to bed, I just laid my head down beside the books.

I must have fallen asleep.

But suddenly, I felt something shift. My back twisted. I stood up.

Except… I was still there.

I saw myself, lying down at the desk, sleeping.

Panic kicked in.

"Wake up!" I shouted. "You have an exam!"

I rushed to the desk, grabbed my calculator, notes, and book—and placed them beside my sleeping body, right next to the pillow.

Then I did something insane: I sat on my own chest and slapped myself across the face.

"WAKE UP!"

My eyes snapped open.

It was 2:55 PM.

I sat up, breathless. Dazed.

But there they were:

My book, my notes, my calculator.

Right next to my pillow.

Exactly where I had left them... in the dream.

This happened to me in 2023. I’m a civil engineer. A logical person. And yet—to this day, I have no explanation.
