Hallow's Eve

A horror story

By Alexander SkyePublished 5 years ago 3 min read

We enter this tale on a dark, dismal night. The air was crisp and dry. This night wasn't just any typical night. This night is a fearful one. We draw into focus on the lives of two boys John and Edward. this will be a story of a night they will have nightmares about for years to come.

Edward and Josh were in the 10th grade. Although they were best friends for as long as they can remember, the rest of their classmates didn't even recognize their existence. That will change after tonight. Soon the two will become an infamous urban legend. Before I tell you that story, let's rewind.

Let us begin earlier that day. John and Edward had just got in the car to leave school. Although John could not drive, Edward would drive him home because they were basically inseparable. They decided that they were going to get food then head back to John's to get ready for a Halloween Party with their classmates. This was the first party either of them had been to, so they wanted to make a lasting impression on the others at the party. while at the house John asked Edward," What the odds us two got invited to the party? are you sure it isn't just another prank?" John was bullied at school for most of his life, but on the first day of 8th grade he met Edward. Since then people haven't really bothered John. Edward responds with," I'm sure that we were invited, because I don't know maybe people would like to get to know us. Is that too hard to grasp, I mean I think we are pretty dope. Now finish up your costume." John, in return, says," Fine, I mean I guess your right."

After finishing getting ready for the party they headed over. They then arrived at a road in the middle of the wood. It was dark and the lighting down the road was thin and dim. "Are you sure we are at the right place," says John. "Yeah man, this is the address," Edward responds, so they continue up the road. The boys reach a gate and it opens. Without thinking they drive in, and the gate closes behind them. They pull up on a greyish house that looks as if it would be in a story written by Edgar Allen Poe. The mists that surround the home adds to the eerie sensation. As soon as the vehicle is put in park the car shuts off unexpectedly. Edward tries to start it up again and it does start. He checks his phone and has no bars. John checks his, and it's the same. They get out to check if anyone is home.

The two boys walk up to the door and ring the doorbell, no-one answers. They continued to do so two more times. After the fourth time they heard a scream coming from the top window. They looked up and saw the sight unimaginable. It disturbed them so bad they ran until they were outside the gate. Behind them the gate raddled almost as in the spirit of the house were screaming to go away. They then ran down the road while screams from the would followed them. They were terrified. Once they got to the street up ahead everything went silent. At that point John was able to call his parents and they got a ride home. His mother asked,'' What happened?" John and Edward only responded with choked words and short breaths.

When they arrived home both of them agreed never to admit what they saw. That singular moment will live in their minds forever.

I bet you're wondering what happened to Edward's car. Well hid parents did end up calling a tow truck. One the man left to get the vehicle he was never heard of again. Although he wasn't ever found a month later the car was mysteriously returned to Edwards house with the words painted on it," We know what you saw."
