FROM THE DARK

Around July 1st, 2019 I had bought a brand new iPhone X. The iPhone was small and yellow and didn't weigh that largely because it wasn't that big. The size of the phone bothered me for a while but then I got used to it after a while because I was on it's all day. Soon after I had gotten used to the phone it started acting strange. it was only strange because I had just gotten the phone and usually when you first get a phone it's not supposed to do strange things. I looked up online the problems I was having with the phone, and I tried to fix them but after I would fix the problems, they keep on reappearing.

one day though something strange occurred. It was about 2 am and I'm a nighttime snacker so it was a normal time for me to get up. I first head to the bathroom, then the kitchen, and last I head back to my room. as I head back to my room I see a glowing light coming from the bathroom. the light was almost like a light from some type of flashlight. I go to the door of the bathroom but right before I step in I hear a strange sound, a sound I've never heard before that was almost like a low humming noise. I then proceed into the bathroom and the light is gone along with the noise. I thought maybe I was just seeing and hearing things because I was still a little tired.

Two days later I woke up late for work, and I know that my boss is going to be on my head again. I leave for work in a rush so of course, I forget something and don't notice until I'm close to my job. I remember where I left it though, I know it's sitting right there on the couch. Once I'm done with work I head home really tired as always. I get home and I sit in the driveway in my car and rest for a little bit. As I lay my head down I hear the same strange humming noise that I heard two nights ago. the sound is coming from behind me so I turn fast to try and catch it but the sound fades. as I look down at my back seat I see my phone propped up. I think to myself “wasn't it on the couch inside”?I froze for a second then grabbed my phone and got out of the car. I get inside and I hop in bed with my clothes still on.

About three days later as I'm on the verge of falling asleep I'm playing with my phone to still try and stop the issues but I eventually give up and go to sleep. as I'm dreaming my dream The environment feels very real and I'm in my bed sleeping but with my eyes open. suddenly my phone lights up and gets brighter and brighter with the notifications going off. then my phone lifts off from beside me and faces me with the bright light.then a black hand emerges from the phone along with the arm attached to it. then the phone starts shaking violently while the rest of whatever was in there starts coming out. The creature drops down to the floor making no noise whatsoever. then suddenly I hear the noise that I have been hearing for the past four nights. it stands up and leans over my very still body just laying. it has human-sized teeth with lifeless white eyes and no nose. it's very tall and skinny. I try to fight my stillness but doesn't work. suddenly the creature raises its arms and comes down on my chest ripping out all of my organs and tissues. the only thing I hear is my screams, then suddenly as I feel myself dying I wake up in a sweat frantically. I thought to myself, “what the hell was that” and then remembered something. I looked at my phone and the screen was lit up with a message that said: FROM THE DARK. I suddenly ran to my bathroom and threw up.

The next day immediately I headed to the phone store to get a new phone. the assistant at the store checked the history of my last phone purchase and I was all set to get the new phone. I head back home with the new phone and I finally feel relieved to not have to worry about my phone bugging out and whatnot. about a week later I'm at home on the couch watching a movie and fully awake eating popcorn. as I'm eating the popcorn I realize that I'm almost done so I go to make some more. as I'm headed back I realize I got a message from an unknown number. I clicked on the message and opened my phone. I was shocked to see the message had read: FROM THE DARK.then suddenly after I hear that strange noise again and immediately stand up. I grab my bat that was behind my couch and start cautiously walking around. I still hear the noise and it sounds like it's leading me to the bathroom. it gets louder and louder as I get closer and I finally reach the door. I open it slowly with the bat still in my hand. I open the door and the noise stops, then I flick the light on but it won't turn on. I flick it again and nothing, then the creature grabs me from behind and lifts me into the air. I try to wiggle out but it's no use. I finally get free and started taking hard swings at the creature and hit a couple of shots. he strikes me with one of his claws, then I start to bleed all down. I let out a painful scream and run away to the kitchen. I hide behind my table trying to make little to no noise. the creature comes in looking around for me then heads back to my room still searching. I then remember I have a lighter on the couch and if I can make it to the bathroom and get the air refresher I can make a homemade blow torch I rush over to my couch grab the lighter and then make a break for the bathroom. I get the air freshener the head to my room. I peek inside the room looking for it but it's not there, then I suddenly feel something cold coming from above me. I look up and there it is it's on the ceiling take out the lighter and light it up. it screams and retreats to the bathroom that is no longer the bathroom and is just a room of darkness. and in its hand is my phone and then the monster gets absorbed into the room then the door shuts. I head to the kitchen to get some supplies to clean my wound and just stay there.

It's been a week and I had to get another phone and along with that a new job because my boss just couldn't take me anymore being late. It's been very calm lately with nothing distracting me and nothing to do also. Friday I had a lot of stuff to do so naturally I was tired. and this night I was messing around and changing stuff on my phone so I got very bored and headed to sleep. as I was dreaming I had the same feeling as the last time I had a dream: very real. it felt almost familiar as if I was reliving the same thing. suddenly I wake up and as I do I can't move. then my phone starts going off and it gets bright and lifts into the air facing me. then I think to myself “ wait for a minute don't tell me this is...”I suddenly pause knowing the answer to my question. then a black hand along with an arm comes out of the phone. the creature comes out and drops to the floor and makes the same disturbing noise. he raises his arm and I shout “WAIT PLEASE” and with no hesitation, it slams down on my chest and begins ripping my stomach open. I scream painfully and begin drifting away. I thought it was still a dream but in reality, it wasn't.it begins dragging me to the bathroom, and I suddenly disappear Into the dark with the door closing behind me.
