It came from space. An egg, or so it looked like one. The thing was oval shaped, green and bumpy with scratches all over it. There was a burning comet, set on fire, crashing through buildings and forests. It destroyed everything in its path. The news went international, everyone on earth heard about the comet and the fear it brought was far beyond overwhelming. What was this thing? It looked like an egg, but no egg on earth could possibly survive such a crash without shattering. The USA Government found and extracted the thing from space, hiding it from the public, nobody but them knew it was something alien. The egg was taken into area 51 and secured, locked away and studied extensively. There it remained for several years, unmoving, untouched, contained behind glass. A Scientist kept notes on any changes to the egg, for the longest time she convinced herself the thing was not an egg, but a strange rock from out of space. Then when she was almost 39, small cracks on the top exterior began to form. Something from within was growing like a baby chicken. What should have taken days, took a whole year as the egg cracked more and more until it finally hatched 2 months after the scientist's 40th birthday. Finally, after almost two years of waiting, alien life on earth was finally among us. The staff at area 51 were at first excited, expecting to see a little green, cute humanoid with big black eyes and a huge round head. Like the stereotypical design of an alien you'd see in all those old comic books and early science fiction movies. However, what lay inside that egg looked unlike anything anyone had ever seen. It was not cute, but monstrous, with features so strange, they are hard to describe, but I'll try anyway:
It was more insect than humanoid, with almost a hundred limbs that weren't quite hands or legs, but perhaps pincers or claws. It was an ugly, dark brown colour with grotesque spots of yellow that looked like pimples. The alien appeared to have no eyes, yet it was somehow still aware of its environment. It moved like a crab or spider, but not quite one or the other, it seemed to defy time and space, moving in slow motion then suddenly at super speed, like somebody had been messing around with the fast forward buttons on the TV remote. It did not obey the rules of gravity either, instead floating mid air and swimming around the glass box it found itself in. The scientist who had been studying the egg for so long was sickened by the sight of this thing, its bug-like appearance and horrid colour was simply appalling to witness. It embodied disgust, especially when its pimples began spitting yellow acidic puss all over the place. The puss stunk like the worst sewer on earth, it made skunk's smell like perfume in comparison, it was simply vomit inducting to sniff and eye bleeding to look at. The scientist couldn't believe after all this time, the alien inside was the definition of gross. Then the yellow acid began to melt through the glass.
"Oh shit!" The scientist gasped, quickly standing to her feet. The alien was escaping and the combination of its horrid stench and ugliness was honestly frightening. The fact it floated in the air and moved out of sync with time and space, that only made it seem all the more weird and revolting. Eventually it broke through containment altogether, reaching out to her at speeds impossible to comprehend. It burst that yellow putrid acid all over her, she screamed and melted into a hideous puddle of red blood and gore. It escaped into the compound of area 51, melting many of the scientists and soldiers that tried to stop it. The flying alien was unstoppable until somebody began throwing grenades into its general direction. Not even this thing could avoid all those explosions, it fortunately splattered in the bombing, leaving more of the disgusting yellow gore all over the place. It's safe to say the staff at area 51 were disappointed with the alien life they found, it seemed to be a mindless animal. More accurately, a giant sized parasite that only lived to eat and likely reproduce. All those years of speculation and excitement; only to discover the alien life form was merely an oversized bug. One that killed almost 50 members of staff in its wake. The scariest thing of all, is that if that was only one of those hideous things, how much damage could a whole population of them do?

This story is wild! The idea of an alien egg crashing to Earth is crazy. I wonder how the government plans to handle this new alien life. And what do you think the long-term implications of this discovery will be for humanity?
