Exploring the Ghost Lake
investigation of who is haunting the lake and its territory

there’s a pond right there, and there’s this bug-eyed woman who dances lazily around it. I’m not sure how to make this work, we obviously can’t go back to Mary’s room, so do we want to go to the pond? I mean, I’m not sure if she wants us to go to the pond, but it sounds like the pond is the place, even though it’s newer to the property.
It’s considered a hotspot for paranormal activity, attracting all sorts of spirits like a magnet. Back in the days of the Dandy family, Clara and her daughters would often hear Gregorian chants from a distance whenever they were near the pond.
But the most active spirit that Sam and I are trying to contact tonight is the bug-toothed, red-haired woman in white. She’s seen across the pond, dancing slowly and lazily, her eyes bulging out. This bug-eyed woman has been seen by most of the Dandy family, even Phil, who is known to be a huge skeptic. The night he saw her, he asked Father Al to stay with him, and he became violently ill.
You know about the bug-eyed woman? Yeah, the creepy one who dances around the pond. I went outside with Phil, and he walked me around the property. We almost made it to the end of the pond when I asked, 'Phil, is this where you saw the creepy woman?' He had a flashlight, and he turned around so quickly, I almost got hit in the head. He said, 'I didn’t need to see that damn woman!' He was really angry at me for asking.
Although she’s mostly seen by the pond, this woman has also been spotted inside the house, rummaging through drawers, and has even spoken directly to Clara herself. Clara’s final experience at the house was when the bug-eyed woman looked her straight in the eye and whispered something incomprehensible to her.
From past investigations, we know that water is a powerful conduit for paranormal activity, so "We’re going to try to head out to the middle of this pond, which you can barely even see, and then attempt to call out to the spirits of the pond to see if they’ll respond. Also, we’re curious about what’s been messing with our equipment—if we even get any answers.
Clara’s first encounter with the haunting sounded like Gregorian chants or a Catholic choir singing from the woods, so we thought as a trigger event, we’d play Gregorian chants through a speaker on the shore, just for the bug-eyed woman. And since she and a variety of other spirits were seen near the lake we decided to sail it to investigate.
Alright, let’s set up the boat… what was that? Did you hear that? It sounded like a weird scratching noise. Is that an animal? No way, that wasn’t an animal. Wait—did you hear that? That was a scream. A female scream. Where are you guys? I’m holding this as a weapon! If anything comes at us, I’m throwing it. That sound definitely came from the woods, too. It was like metal scraping, followed by a woman’s scream.
I want you guys to stay on the boat. I can’t drive this thing. I think I hear a car coming though, I’m still filming… wait, look! Look! There’s someone out there. We’re actually alone here, no guides or anything. Please, stop showing up at filming locations. It’s so freaky and unsettling. Seriously.
Can you see us on camera? Oh, they can see the car. We didn’t lock the house—if they think no one’s home, they might go in. They’re pointing right at us. This is terrifying. I’m shaking. We’re probably scarier to them than they are to us, though. Look, they’re backing away slowly. Thank God. This is so scary. I hate this.
lright, let’s head into the middle of the pond. Bug-eyed lady, where are you? This is pretty romantic… should we let go of the rope? Yeah, let’s do it. We’re kind of screwed if we need to get back quickly, but we’re doing it. If we die on camera, it’s your fault.
This is insane… is this good enough? I feel like we should go further. Should I let go of the rope or get it back into the boat? I’m not sure. This is creepy. Let me drive the boat. Alright, let it go. We’re risking it for the biscuit. We’re doing it. I feel like I’m about to fall in. We only have like two minutes, bro. I can’t see anything with this light in my eyes. Alright, I’m pulling out the device... Wait, why am I turning sideways? Just pump it once and leave it. Oh my God, we’re running into something. There they are.
We’re almost at the spot. Let’s talk to the bug-eyed lady. Dude, we’re so close to the water. I feel like we’re going to die. Don’t say that. Wait—wait, you two should kiss. She said it, not me! But maybe we’ll save that for off-camera.
Alright, I’ve got something to ask. My butt is almost touching the water... Is that a sign? What’s going on here? Should we message Sam and Kobby and see if they’ve ever explored each other’s bodies? Or is it just me? Okay, sorry. Let's focus.
We’ve got the EVP device, and we’re here to talk to the bug-eyed lady. Any other spirits from the pond or the woods, feel free to communicate. We’re willing to go to any lengths to contact you.
Alright, Dandy family, one of the sisters… did you have a special connection with one specific sister? Is that you we’re hearing, the Gregorian chants? The chants sound so weird here.
If the bug-eyed woman is here, can you describe yourself to us? How are you connected to the house? Are you the mistress of this place? Can you hear that? Is it air? Did the mistress send something?
Wait, that’s not air... What was that? That was something else! I thought I heard something awful. This is so terrifying. There’s literally nothing around us.
Can you tell us more about what we’re going to experience tonight? Is there a spirit called the Mistress? Was the bug-eyed woman once a mistress? Maybe they don’t know exactly where she came from.
Wait, is that fog? It’s so creepy. What are your intentions with Nikki? She seems to be targeted the most. I’m hearing "Contrition Dives"—what does that mean? Disregard?
Is this spirit part of the Hinsdale House hauntings? What’s the nature of the hauntings here? What are the spirits’ intentions?
Wait, there’s a bell? I don’t remember anything about a bell. We just want to understand the intention of this place. Holy... "holy opening." What does that mean? Is there a portal? We asked one of the guides about a portal before, and he said yes.
Wait, I think we found it. There’s the holy opening, right? That’s what we need to get to. Wait... I didn’t mean it like that. This is so hard.
Alright, let me drive the boat. We’re close, but not close enough. Come on, we can do this. We need to go the other way. Alright, now go straight back. I’m touching the bottom. We can do this!
We’re going to die out here if we don’t get it together. Oh wait, I’ve got it. The rope! There we go. We can go up here now. We made it."
