Chinese Urban Legends

Chinese Urban Legends and ghost stories to tell your friends? In China, there is a tradition called "Ghost Month," which is seventh lunar month, when Chinese people can believe in ghost and think that they are released from hell to wonder the world for a whole month. Traditionally, during the Ghost Month, Chinese people would tell stories. Here are some of the stories.

Single Braid-

There is a road that runs along the campus of Chinese University of Hong Kong. They call it "Single Braid Road," and many STUDENTS claim to have encountered a ghostly figure of a girl with long braided hair, walking alone at night. It's said that, one cold night, a girl with braided hair took a great pains to sneak into Hong Kong from the mainland. She was illegal immigrant and she came with her boyfriend. They took a train to the city. Unexpectedly the saw a police officer boarding the train and he/she were checking passports and their identifications. she was worried that they would catch her, she had no other choice but to avoid that so she decided to jump off the moving train. As she did that her braid got caught up in the window frame. The hair was ripped off her scalp and the skin was also ripped off her face as well. The girl stumbled onto the "Single Braid Road," and that's where collapsed and died, then police came around and saw a girls body, they did their job of checking if she was ok or not, they declared that she was dead. They cleaned up the mess and etc. Her boyfriend on the other hand did not give a flying fuck about her, he saw everything go down but NEVER once has he looked for her or even though of her. One night, there was a male student who was walking the Single Braid Road when he noticed a girl just standing there, her back was turned so he could not see her face. All he saw was her braids where long and he tried calling out to her, but got no answer. When he came closer to her he tapped her shoulder? But what he saw next when she turned around was a horror! He saw that she had NO FACE, everything wasn't there at all. Many people had said that they saw her many times since then. The only thing is, the male students only can see her.

Bus 375-

Bus 375 is a scary Chinese Urban Legend about a bus in Beijing that disappeared one cold November night and it's based on a true story? This also known as "The Midnight Bus or The Bus of Fragrant Hills" This story happened on November 14, 1995, in Beijing, China. At midnight, bus 375 pulled up at Yuan-ming-yuan bus terminus. This was the last bus of the night and it's destination was Xiang-shan. (Fragrant Hills). They next day , bus 375 failed to report to the station, it had vanished along with the driver and the female conductor. The police searched the whole city and find NO trace of it. Two days latter, the police eventually found the missing bus. It was submerged in the Miyun reservoir, about 100KM, from Fragrant Hills.

Lotus Pond-

There was a young couple who were deeply in love and they planed to run away and start a life together. They decided to meet at midnight beside the Lotus Pond. The girl showed up, she kept waiting for her boyfriend to come but he NEVER showed up so as she started walking she noticed her boyfriend with another FEMALE who was a class mate. She went back to the spot that she was at, and she just started balling her eyes out, and that's when she threw herself into the water, it was pretty much a suicide by letting herself drown. Sometime after that, there was once again a young couple agreed to meet at the same spot as the first one. The boy was early so he walked to waters age and just walked back and forth, till out of no where he heard a girls voice behind him say, "I asked you to meet me at night didn't I?" The boy answered, "No." The next thing he saw was two white hands emerge from the water and drags him down into the pond. He was drowned to death. Ever since then, at Chung Chi, there is an unwritten rule: if you go to the pond don't respond to the girl nor look at her, your life will be in danger if you do.

Oxtail Soup-

There was a young couples attended United College, they were both where medical students. Every night the girl would make a cup of oxtail soup for her boyfriend, she would hang it out of the window who's room was below hers. He one day got a very odd oxtail soup, but as usually he ate it and fell asleep with his book opened. The next day he went up to see his girlfriend, but she was NO where to be found, he started to ask around about her till a group of girls broke the NEWS to him. They told him that she died out of a sudden illness a few days prior. Upon hearing this, he was taken over by grief. Then out of a sudden he realized, if his girlfriend died then who was lowering him oxtail soup?

Little Finger-

There was a make student who often went to study in University library, he would stay there studying till closing time. After that he would walk back to his dorm, every night on the way back he passed a small park and he always has and he saw a young girl sitting there on the swinging back and fort, so on one of the night doing the same stuff he finally decided to go to the swings and talk to her for a while before heading back to his dorm. The next day the boy told his friends that he talked to a girl in the park and they asked him what she looked like, and he described her, soon after that his friends told him that she sounds familiar like their teachers daughters who died in the accident? Next night he asked to see her hands but she refused but then he DEMANDED to see them that's when she finally did and he ran away in terror the next time he passed by he NEVER saw her again!

Room 111-

There is a room in the basement of New Asia College dormitory called "Room 111." Years ago, it was shared by an electronic engineering student and medical student, both of the students got along well and studied hard all week long. One night the student who is studying electronic was in the room alone, he was under a lot of pressure 'cause there was a text coming up and he though he was gonna fail it, and that made him very upset so he commit suicide! He made a suicide timing tool, he pretty much electrocuted himself to death. The next morning, the student who studying medical, returned to the dorm as he walked into the room he saw his roommate in bed laying there, he didn't think to much about it and continued with everything he was doing not knowing that his roommate was dead for days. Then the guy who was still alive went to an asylum for the rest of his life due to his illness and etc. Ever since then the dorm people changed the rooms so new students wouldn't know which room is 111.
