Bomb Voyage: Spoilers Reveal Explosive Midseason Finale For 'The Walking Dead'

Put on a fresh pair of undies, because as Negan himself would say it's pant-sh*tting time over on AMC's The Walking Dead. While we are still months away from doing our best zombie shuffle toward the Season 8 premiere, fans of Robert Kirkman's apocalyptic adventure are hungry for flesh.
We may have already seen the #TheWalkingDead's action-packed Comic-Con trailer show that Season 8 intends to take to our screens with a bang, but how long will the fireworks last? Well, looking even further ahead, it sounds like Season 8's midseason finale in particular will try to top Game of Thrones and its dragons in the pyrotechnics stakes.
Warning: Major spoilers for The Walking Dead ahead.
Who's safe at the safe zone?
Courtesy of Facebook page The Spoiling Dead Fans, a video hot off the set teases some major action going down at the Alexandria Safe Zone. After the dramatic showdown at Alexandria's gates during the Season 7 finale, we will undoubtedly see our communities band together against the nefarious Negan.
Although action will also be focused at The Hilltop and The Kingdom this season, you can bet your bottom dollar that #JeffreyDeanMorgan's Negan will be setting his sights mainly on Rick Grimes and that (seemingly) Safe Zone. The video shows all the dramatics from the midseason finale, and you can clearly see Rick's little slice of non-apocalypse living go up in flames.
The site also confirms that there will be some major damage to the community and all they hold dear:
“There were multiple loud, fiery explosions. They took place by the solar panels, church, and Brownstones.”
With Alexandria being a major part of the show and the comics, we can't see it being completely toast, but it's safe to say things will never be the same again at the happy little housing unit.
Carl Vs. Negan — Smackdown
There is also reportedly a showdown at the gates of Alexandria between two major players as Carl and Negan butt heads once again. Although other cast members are there, there is no sign of #AndrewLincoln. Carl apparently steps down from a platform and gunfire ensures. Interestingly, it is thought that Negan reveals a key piece of information with the line:
"Your daddy isn't here."
While there is virtually no chance of Rick having perished, The Spoiling Dead Fans also implies that the most dramatic scenes from the midseason finale will be sans-Rick Grimes.
With daddy off elsewhere, now could be the perfect time for #ChandlerRiggs to step from the shadows and queue himself up as the show's next big lead. We all know that Rick won't be around forever, and we definitely need someone to be the lawman around here. However, also vying for the top spot, Danai Gurira's Michonne looks set to continue her badass streak. Even with Alexandria under siege, it sounds like the residents put up a good fight and Gurira was spotted with an M-16 and some grenades — go on, girl!
Death Marches On The Safe Zone
The Spoiling Dead Fans may have come under fire from AMC, but true Dead Heads see it as a service to those who just can't wait until December to find out what happens next. Given what the site has revealed, it certainly sounds like the show is living up to its hype of being the most explosive season yet.
Also, remembering that TWD's midseason finales have typically dramatic farewells before we head off for the festive period, should we assume that someone big is about to taste the steely wire of Negan's bat? Even with the whole season expected to loosely follow the 12 issues of the "All Out War" arc from the comics, Kirkman's pages may not offer as much of a clue as we first thought.
As #ScottGimple and AMC circumnavigate the source material, it is anyone's bet who'll live and who'll die. Only last season we saw that finale shocker where Sonequa Martin-Green's Sasha "sort of" replaced the character of Holly from the comic books and met her maker. While most of our serious regulars will escape the Alexandria battle with just a few scratches, it sounds like the second half of the season will be tackling the concluding chapter of "All Out War." So, expect even more bloodshed and beatings away from those ravenous zombies, however, all Gimple needs to remember though is that if Carol dies, we riot — sorry Daryl.
