Years passed, and the girl grew into a woman. She tried to put the witch and the tree behind her, but the fear never really left her. It was always there, lurking in the shadows of her mind, waiting for her to let her guard down.

One night, as the woman lay in bed, she suddenly sat up, gasping for air. She was back in the clearing, and the witch was there, waiting for her. The woman's heart was pounding in her chest, but she refused to give in to her fear. She stood her ground, her eyes locked on the witch's.

The witch stepped forward, her tattered robes brushing against the ground as she reached out a hand. The woman felt the chill of death seeping into her bones, but she refused to give in to it.

She stood her ground, even as the witch's hand closed around her throat.

And then, everything changed. The witch's hand didn't tighten, it softened. The witch's eyes, once so full of malice, suddenly held a glimmer of sadness.

The witch spoke, her voice little more than a whisper, "Why do you fear me? I am not your enemy. I am here to help you."

The woman was shocked. This was not how the dream was supposed to go. She had faced the witch so many times, but she had never received any answers. And now, here she was, receiving help from the very being she feared most.

The witch told the woman of a curse that had been placed upon her family generations ago, a curse that caused them to relive the same nightmare over and over again.

The curse could only be broken by facing the witch and overcoming the fear she inspired. The woman was the last of her line, and if she could not break the curse, it would haunt her family forever.

The woman was hesitant at first, but she soon realized that the witch was telling the truth. She had spent her entire life running from her fear, but now, she saw that it was the only way to break the curse.

And so, she mustered all of her courage and stepped forward, ready to face the witch once and for all.

The witch smiled, and suddenly, the clearing was gone. The woman was back in her bed, but she felt different. She was lighter, freer. The witch had given her the gift of peace, and she would never forget her.

From that day on, the woman never had the nightmare again. The witch had helped her break the curse, and she would always be grateful to her.

And whenever she thought about the tree, she no longer felt fear. Instead, she felt a sense of comfort, knowing that the witch was always there, watching over her and her family.

The woman lived the rest of her life in peace, knowing that she had overcome her greatest fear. And whenever she thought about the witch, she smiled, knowing that she was a friend, not an enemy.

The witch in her dreams may have been defeated, but the memory of her would live on, a reminder of the strength and bravery that lay within us all.
