3 Great Horror Podcasts

A List

I think everyone and their pet dog probably knows how obsessed I am with the horror genre by now and though it is no secret, I have not yet shared (though I do not remember sharing) my favourite horror podcasts. There are many that I listen to but there are also obvious ones that are better than others. Sooner or later I will do the same thing but for my favourite horror YouTube channels (though I have to admit I do not actually watch enough YouTube to have more than three horror channels that I like. It's more like a once a month proceedure). So, without futher discussion, let us go through my top three favourite horror podcasts.

3 Great Horror Podcasts

3. Chilling Tales for Dark Nights

From: YouTube

This is one I listen to more sporadically but it is a great podcast which deals with themes. For example: there's an episode on children and monsters, there's another on lycanthropy - it's really great if you're looking to listen to podcast episodes of horror stories about particular things. It is definitely a mood-based idea and I like it. Though the stories are not always as frightening as I would like, there are a lot of atmospheric ones packed in there. Chilling Tales for Dark Nights is definitely one of my favourite podcasts on my podcast application. Though they do also have a YouTube channel, I love listening to the podcast.

2. CreepyPod

From: CreepyPod

CreepyPod is awesome. These episodes are normally about anything and everything and are a little bit shorter than what I am used to in terms of podcasts. But, like the tales of Chilling Tales for Dark Nights, that does not bother me, I still love the content. CreepyPod often deals with all kinds of different horror stories, from folk to monsters to creepypastas and everything in between. Right now, they're covering some really good horror stuff.

Honorable Mention!

'Hit the Lights' Podcast

From: Audible

Yes, it's that time of year again. The 'Hit the Lights' podcast is probably better known for its YouTube channel called 'Top 5s'. A brilliant podcast complete with true crime stories, missing people, internet horrors and folklore from the distant past that comes back to haunt us like an M.R James tale. Hit the Lights may have shorter and less in-depth episodes, but for a good scare from the real world or even a short jump from the supernatural real, this is a great podcast for Halloween.

1. The No Sleep Podcast

From: Visit Manchester

I think that anyone who likes the genre of horror and likes podcasts probably already knows about and listens religiously to the NoSleep Podcast. An amazing podcast filled with terrifying horror stories weekly, this podcast is possibly the best example of a horror show podcast out there. As I am writing this actually, I am listening to the No Sleep Podcast and have listened to a few episodes since this morning, trying to catch up on what I have missed. It's an awesome podcast with voice actors and creepy music and great stories, it's just brilliant in every way and possibly my favourite podcast after literatureandhistory.com. You should definitely listen if you haven't already. It is filled with great episodes of masses of stories, some of the episodes hitting two hours or more.

Conclusion

So there we have it, three great horror podcasts. I hope you get around to listening to them some time soon and have a great Halloween. I also hope you watch some scary stuff and if you're out and about, I hope you're keeping safe. Have an amazing Halloween season and scare yourself silly responsibly.
