There has been quite a bit of remakes in the horror genre that have been announced. There has also been a lot of opinions over some of these remake announcements, and even I have expressed my own doubts over some of these remakes.

However, some of them have actually excited me, because this horror film was either due for one, or the potential for this remake is pretty freaking huge! One of them has reportedly already been made, and I've so excited to watch the brand new remake to this particular film.

I think some of you might freak out over the remake that has been already made, and I'm sure some of you are going to be extremely curious to learn what this remake is going to bring to the table for us horror fans!

10. Audition

I honestly don't think this film needed a remake. I had seen the original, and I thought it was perfect. The story is a fantastic mystery, building up to a creepy reveal of killer that is hidden to both the viewer and the protagonist. After a man's wife passes away, he is desperate to find a new love.

He falls in love with this young woman, who turns out to be a complete psychopath, leaving the audience terrified with the final act of the film, wondering what is going to happen next.

The director who made the original Speak No Evil 2022 version is the one behind the remake. I think the director is awesome at creating pure dread, but I don't think Audition ever needed a remake.

Like…why?

9. An American Werewolf in London

I have a whole lot of doubts over this remake announcement. The original film is already so damn good, I don't think we need another remake to one of the most iconic werewolf films ever brought to screen.

How the hell are they going to pull off one of the best werewolf transformations ever made? That shit looked way too real, and you could actually feel the actor's pain as he was transforming.

What is interesting and possibly a hope for a good remake, is that the son's director who made the original film is going to direct the remake. So perhaps we horror fans could be getting something great.

Hopefully.

8. The Last Train to New York (Train to Busan Remake)

I think I can agree with a lot of horror fans on this one. I don't think any of us asked for this remake. This zombie film is a blast, and is considered to be one of the best zombie films ever made.

While James Wan is a really awesome director for horror fans, I don't think he should have tackled this one. While I am a bit curious to see what kind of vision he has in store for this one, I'm still so iffy on why he wanted to create a remake to this film.

Hopefully we horror fans will be proven wrong, right?

Maybe.

7. The People Under the Stairs

I actually have never seen the original version to Wes Craven's film. I'm seen so many of his films, but I completely forgot about this one. I'll be sure to watch this one in the future and discuss my thoughts on it, but for now, I think this remake does have a lot of potential.

Once I heard that Jordan Peele was behind the project, I know this film is going to do great. I have seen a few of his films, and this dude knows how horror works. He is awesome at creating creepy atmospheres, and I can't wait to see what kind of horrors he will conjure up with story.

I really believe this film is going to do great.

6. American Psycho

At first, I was pretty upset about this remake. I am obsessed with the original film, it's one of my all-time favorite horror movies ever made. It's the perfect psychological horror film that follows the story of a serial killer who has so much power in the world of the rich.

Then I heard that the dude directing the remake is the same guy who made the remake to Suspiria that was released in 2018. That film to me is considered to be one of the best remakes ever made in horror.

So now, I'm pretty excited to see what sort of madness the director is going to pull off with this film. He makes the stories his own vision, and it works pretty damn well. I'm beyond curious to see what kind of Patrick Bateman we are going to see!

I'm super excited for this remake!

5. The Blair Witch Project

I'm still so mad we are getting a remake to this film. In my eyes, this is the best horror movie ever made. I have lost count how many times I have seen this film, and I love the build-up to one of the best scariest endings in horror.

A lot of fans like myself have been questioning this remake. I heard that the directors are going for a brand-new vision, and I'm pretty worried about it. There is a reason why the original works so well. The old footage makes the film look like something out of analog horror, and it's so creepy.

What kind of cameras are we going to get with the new one? And how is going to look?

I don't have any hope for this remake.

4. Sleepaway Camp

I think this remake is a pretty cool idea, and it has actually been recently announced. I remember watching bits and pieces of the film, and I was shocked with how brutal some of the kills were. Of course, everyone remembers the film for the iconic ending, and I'm curious how the new writers are going to tackle this ending reveal.

I was also surprised to hear that an SNL cast member is going to help produce the film, and I'm curious what kind of vision they are going for with this remake.

I would love to see even more brutal kills!

I'm curious to see what kind of remake slasher we are going to get!

3. The Lost Boys

I am still so mixed with how to feel about this classic remake. I love the original film to death, I have seen it so many times, and I consider this to be one of the best vampire stories ever made.

From what I have seen of the fans, people are upset that the cast isn't going to be as hot as the original two leads in the classic vampire flick. I thought this was hilarious, but I'm only hoping for two great performances who will be playing the two rivals in the remake.

I'm hoping the vampires are going to be ugly as hell like in the original, because I'll be so disappointed if we get 'Twilight' vampires.

I'm not sure what to say about this remake so far, but I'm curious to see what sort of vision we will get.

2. Christine

This remake was announced a long time ago, and is allegedly still in script development. I was in shock to hear that Bryan Fuller, the dude who was one of the creators to Hannibal, is going to create the remake to John Carpenter's Christine.

I'm beyond thrilled to see what kind of horrors he will bring to this film. I'm sure that they are going to stay practical, since using a CGI Plymouth Fury would be kind of dumb to do.

I'm so excited to see the gore factor we could be getting with this remake!

I'm damn excited for this remake!

1. The Mummy

Yes, you heard that right, folks! We are getting a remake of The Mummy, one of the most iconic and fun action/horror films ever made! And you're not going to believe who is directing the remake!

The dude who made Evil Dead Rise, one of the goriest films I have seen in 2024, is the one behind the project! And we are also getting a R - Rated film too! I'm so freaking excited for this one! It's apparently going to be released sometime in April in 2026, so it's already quite close!

Man, I hope we horror fans are going to see a crapload of terror and gore with The Mummy!

So yeah, I'm pretty excited for this one!

How do you horror fans feel about these horror remakes?
