The villagers say that the paddy field below the center of the Yahangala mountain is the paddy field under the care of the god Gale Bandara. The special reasons for this There is. The old name of this place was,,Yahan Ward.. The reason for the name Yahan Ward is that,,the weapons and armor of the great King Ravana were deposited here..Because those weapons and armor were deposited here,,it is called Yahan Ward.But the name Yahan Ward is known today as Yahangala.The villagers say that there are several reasons for the name Yahangala.

1 One thing is that it was named Yahangala because it is said that the body of the great King Ravana was safely deposited in this Yahangala.

2 Another thing is that the ancient name was Yahan Ward because the weapons and armor of the great King Ravana were deposited here, and the same name has recently become Yahangala.

3 Because the shape of this stone and the mountain range on the left side of it also have the shape of a bed, the folklore calls it Yahangala.

However, another unique fact in the legend is that King Ravana brought Sita and hid her in this Yahangala. If the legend states that King Ravana's weapons and armor were stored in this Yahangala, then the other fact is that the fact that weapons were stored in this Yahangala cave is evidence that there is a large cave. After the paddy field work was completed, the villagers say that all the farming tools should be taken back to the place where the prayers were held in this rock. But due to the unnecessary action of one person at one time, the villagers say that after that, those farming tools were not received again. This place is associated with the history of the great Ravana and the Mahiyangana Raja Maha. It is true that the history of the temple is also very close. The reason for saying so is that during the Mahiyangana Rajamaha Viharaya Perahera, a bright light was seen from one place in this Yahangala, according to folklore. Another unique fact here is that the villagers said that the sound of the Hevisi of this Yahangala was heard on the full moon Poya days, but now it is not heard...
