Why I Miss Buzz Lightyear in Brawl Stars More Than Ever

How One Character Defined My Gameplay and Why I Still Hope for His Return

Have you ever played a character in a game and just felt like they were made for you? Like every movement, every ability, every voice line just clicked with you on a level beyond the screen? That’s exactly how I felt when I first played as Buzz Lightyear in Brawl Stars. And now that he’s gone… I miss him. More than I ever thought I could miss a game character.

The First Time I Played Buzz

I still remember the moment I unlocked Buzz. Let me tell you that rush of enthusiasm, that youthful glee I mean, Buzz Lightyear in Brawl Stars? That was the ultimate crossover! As a long-time Toy Story fan, seeing him in the game was odd, like entering my childhood imagination in a completely new way. Let me connect my story. When I originally chose him, I had no idea what to expect. But the second I started my first match, it was pure ecstasy. His attacks were flexible, his super seemed quite active, and that laser? Absolute perfection in some cases. It was not only about power but also about precision. You had to time your shots, use his gadgets carefully, and move wisely. Buzz was more than just another brawler; he was an experience, a complete playstyle clothed in the sleek, futuristic armor of a space ranger.

There are several reasons, why I found Buzz to be the most fun brawl in brawl stars, first and foremost, Buzz had an energy about him that made him different from other characters. It wasn’t just about the mechanics it was about the entire vibe he brought to the game. My favorite line of words goes to "To infinity and beyond!" before leaping into battle, to the fine details on his costume that reflected light just right, everything about him felt polished and alive.

So now when it comes to his super, so without a doubt it saved me a lot in the game. It was a rush every time. Zooming across the battlefield, knocking competitors back, and breaking the flow of battle with a single shot made me feel unstoppable, that was the reason I had most winning with this brawl.

Even when I lost, I had fun. That’s the hallmark of a truly great character. Winning wasn’t the only reward—playing as Buzz was the reward in itself.

Then… He Was Gone

And just like that… Buzz was removed. No warning, no grand farewell, just erased from existence. One day he was there, lighting up the battlefield with his heroic presence, and the next—nothing.

No more laser fights. No more perfectly timed dashes. No more hearing him say, “This is no time to panic!” (when in reality, it was the perfect time to panic).

I am still hoping maybe Brawl Stars will surprise us with an announcement, a limited-time event, or a nostalgic revival. But no. The game moved forward, new brawlers entered the roster, and Buzz faded into a distant memory.

It’s a strange thing, getting attached to a digital character. But it happens. We form bonds with these fictional figures, not because they’re real, but because of what they represent to us. Buzz wasn’t just another brawler in the game he was my brawler. Other than that, for me I found that he was a character who gave me a competitive edge and made matches thrilling regardless of the outcome. He became a part of my playstyle and identity in the game. Now every time I log in, I think, "This would be so much easier if Buzz were here." Or, Man, this map was ideal for Buzz.

And that’s when it really sinks in—how much a game can impact us, how much these virtual warriors become more than just pixels on a screen. They become memories, experiences, and moments in time that we wish we could revisit.

Will He Ever Come Back?

I don’t know. But I hope so.

Just imagine the hype if they announced his return. The forums would explode. The Brawl Stars community would go wild. I will be the first in line to pick up my wing blaster power and fight on the battlefield once again.

Miss you, Buzz. To infinity and beyond.
