These Are My Top Ten Open World Games for Any Console or PC

By AjaxPublished 8 years ago 3 min read

I've been gaming since I was about five-years-old and that was in the late 90's. I am now 25-years-old and still in love with gaming. I don't think I will ever fall out of love with it. Now these are my top ten open world games that I have played and enjoyed a lot.

10. 'Rust'

Survival game on PC. You start out naked and have nothing except a rock and a torch (in the vanilla game). You than have to fight off other players, hostile animals, radiation from monuments, and the weather effects around you. This community can be very toxic, so buy and play at your own risk.

9. 'Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag'

This was and still is my favorite AC game just because the game mechanics were flawless and the naval warfare battles really got me engaged and hooked. I played and played until I took over every single fort and upgraded my island to the max level buildings. If you haven't played this game you really should.

8. 'Grand Theft Auto 5'

This game was amazing and super fun when it first came out on PC. I played the hell out of it and put close to 1k hours into that game. But now the single player mode is boring since I beat the game and there is nothing to do except kill civs and destroy the police, but that gets very boring really quickly. And the online play on the PC is pretty toxic and bad as well. You can be shopping for clothes or something and someone will shoot open the doors and murder you where you stand. Others will just hunt you down and murder you till you quit. So, I haven't played this in a long time, but it still made the list.

7. 'Mercenaries 2: World In Flames'

This was one of my favorite PS2 games that I played the hell out of. This game was great and you could either do the story missions or you could just walk or drive around and destroy a whole city if you wanted. I would steal a tank or something and take out a whole city block. I never did play the multiplayer of this, but I do know that the servers are now shut down for the MP portion.

6. 'Elder Scrolls Morrowind'

This is the best Elder Scrolls game in my opinion. It beats Skyrim by a little bit and totally blows Oblivion out of the water (I hated Oblivion). I have played this game for many years, and even just recently bought it on Steam, but cannot get it to work sadly.

5. 'Just Cause 3'

I have not played any of the other Just Cause games, so this was the very first one that I have experienced and I loved it so much. You have a grapple hook type of tool and a parachute which you can just swing around the map. You can attach yourself to cars and hitch a ride or just steal a moving helicopter. I have over 200 hours on this game.

4. 'Saint's Row The Third'

It was hard to pick this one or the 2nd game. But I went with this game due to be being able to replay this game over and over and still having so much fun with it. They have quite a bit of mods that I can download and it makes this game even better.

3. 'Far Cry 3'

This was the very first Far Cry game I have played, so after playing this I did buy the others (other than 5) and this is my favorite game so far. The choices you can take to complete the missions or just cruise around the island taking out bad guys makes this a great game.

2. 'Arma 3'

This is one of my most played games on Steam, and probably will be the most played here soon. This game is amazing in every way and I love how many different mods you can have with this game. This is a military simulation game and if you can't handle those types of games, then don't waste your money on this game.

1. 'Fallout: New Vegas'

The hardest decision of my life was to decide which Fallout game should reign supreme. I decided to go with New Vegas because I can replay this game over and over again and still have a different experience each and every time. I usually side with NCR, but recently I went bad and sided with the Legion and, I've got to say, it was more thrilling of a game going that way.

These were my top ten favorite open world games. I know I missed a lot of other great games, but I either haven't played them or didn't like them. (The Witcher series) Don't judge me! Thank you for reading and game on!
