Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released in the UK on November 10, 2009. This game is and always will be the absolute pinnacle of all COD games. Speak to anyone between the ages of 17-25 and they will tell you how good MW2 was. This game's big brother Modern Warfare was released 2 years prior to MW2, another fantastic game with a riveting campaign and a cutting edge multiplayer system. In 2016 Infinity Ward deemed the original Modern Warfare good enough for a remastered edition. Having played that game I can assure you it is a very solid game and worth the money for fans of the franchise. I feel like that remastering of Modern Warfare opens a door for the God of all COD games to be remastered (Yes, I mean MW2!!)
I spent most of my time between ages 11 and 16 playing Modern Warfare 2. Every person I knew in my high school at the time was also playing the game, everyone was hooked. There are so many reason to why this game should get a remaster but sadly I can only name a few or this article will go on forever.
The Community
Modern Warfare 2 was the first video game that I experienced that brought so many people together; I played this game with people from my local area that I would never had talked to without it. I was part of a clan in the game and we would set up clan battles with people from all over the world. In the year 2018 that doesn’t seem very impressive but to a 13-year-old me that was crazy, me and my team beating people from America at a game.
Ever since Modern Warfare 2 I as a gamer haven’t really seen or noticed a game that has brought the gaming community together as much as this did. The newer COD games have tried and ultimately failed miserably. I think that since Fortnite has come out, we finally have a game that is bringing the community together again. This is why it is the perfect time to release a remastered version. Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, along with Fortnite, could bring the gaming community together in a way that it hasn’t been for years.
A game of this calibre and fame will no doubt be a smash hit when it is released. It would give the younger generation an example and some experience of how gaming used to be, back when games like MW2, Halo, and Assassin's Creed were extremely popular.

The Glory Days
Remastering this game could be amazing for the community as I already stated, but it could also be very good for the companies that make the games. This game would bring in a lot of money, it was one of the most famous games ever. More importantly however this game could bring some faith back to the fans. Fans of COD games have generally not been happy with the past few games. You may say that the newest COD World War 2 is good but it has nothing on the old games, games such as Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops 1, 2, and even 3.
With Black Ops 4 recently being confirmed it would be a breath of fresh air to also see a remaster being confirmed. I haven’t played COD since Black Ops 3; I feel like an MW2 remaster would be the game to bring me back to the franchise, to bring me memories from many years ago, to bring some fun back into the games. I feel like COD 100 percent needs to go back to its roots for some of the fans to get back on board and revisit a game that was incredible.
Back when Modern Warfare 2 was out, COD ruled the gaming world; all anyone could talk about was Call of Duty this and Call of Duty that. All you could find on YouTube was trickshots, clan battles and compilations. A remaster could take gaming back to that when the competition was fierce but friendly and win or lose everyone had a great time on a great game.

The Campaign
Most video games that have a multiplayer and a campaign focus on the multiplayer. This is because that is the feature of the game that will bring them the most money. This is done by DLC mainly and the newly added loot crates, which is just a scam to trick loyal players into spending more money on the game. Thanks to most game companies focusing on the multiplayer aspect of games, usually the campaign takes a hit. There aren’t many games that come with both in recent years but all of the COD games have.
Modern Warfare 2 had by far the best campaign of all Call of Duty games. The campaign followed on from the one in its predecessor Modern Warfare. You followed the journey of a new recruit but also the story of the person you were in the first game “Soap.” The journey on the Modern Warfare campaign from the first game all the way to Modern Warfare 3 is intense and keeps the player hooked. This campaign is not just intense, it has such an extreme emotional twist with loved characters passing away in the line of fire. At some points playing these campaigns it seemed like I was watching an Oscar winning movie.
This remastered game could breathe some life back into the gaming industry in terms of campaigns. It could see some other game companies take some tips from Infinity Ward and put some thought, heart and effort into making a campaign that you don’t just play once and instantly forget like Black Ops 3.

The Multiplayer
What can I say about Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer? It shaped first person shooters since then until now. For example the class system in Modern Warfare 2 is still being used today in games like Black Ops 3 with guns being able to use more than one attachment. It also shaped the multiplayer gameplay. The multiplayer is one of the most amazing in all of first person shooter, from the killstreaks, to the guns, and most importantly the camos which people played for months with the same gun to collect.
This multiplayer kept everyone playing online, even if you were the best online or you were the worst there was still levels to rank up to and rewards to receive. Players could compete in many fun game modes such as team deathmatch, search and destroy, capture the flag, demolition and domination. Each of these had their own advantages and disadvantages but it was the amount of modes along with the rewards system that really kept the players going and saved from the boredom.
The most fun part of the multiplayer for me was getting into a party with my friends and playing with them. We tried really hard some games to try and level up loads but you could also mess about shooting chickens and watermelons and trying to get into the various ‘glitch spots’.
I have a very special connection to Modern Warfare 2. It is my favourite COD game ever and one of my favourite games of all time even almost a decade since it was released. I think that a remaster of this game can only mean good things for gaming and I hope that it is already in the works.

And finally the world has waited. finally updated version. In my opinion, the game is worth every penny. But it's not worth overpaying for. The more that in this store the price is the lowest I found: https://royalcdkeys.com/products/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-2022-cross-gen-edition-us-ps4-5-cd-key
