The Path of The Crusader — Dungeons and Dragons Homebrew

Barbarian Primal Path

By Parliament HomebrewPublished 4 years ago 3 min read

We have now finished the Artificer class, and we are moving to the Barbarians: The first one is The Path of The Crusader.

Check the Artificers: the Aviator, the Grenadier and the Botanist.

Path of the Crusader — Barbarian Primal Path

The first line of defence in any confrontation, crusader barbarians will empower their own rage with the celestial fury of their deity.

Level 3: Holy Instrument

When you choose this Primal Path at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with heavy armour. While raging, you gain the benefits of the rage and the Fast Movement feature even if you are wearing heavy armour. Additionally, while raging, you have resistance to radiant damage.

Level 6: Raging Smite

Starting at 6th level, you can channel your furious righteousness into your weapons, allowing you to carve through those that would stand against you. Once per turn while you’re raging, when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can deal an additional 1d8 radiant damage to the target. The damage also increases to 2d8 when you reach 14th level.

Level 6: Proselytise the Faith

You gain proficiency in Intelligence (Religion) checks. In addition, when you make an Intelligence (Religion) check, you can use your Charisma modifier instead of Intelligence.

Level 10: Aspect of Radiance

By 10th level, you have become a bulwark of strength, inspiring your allies and striking holy fear into the hearts of your enemies. While you are raging, you give off an aura of radiance that inspires your allies and discourages your enemies. Every allied creature within 10 feet of you while you are raging can add your rage damage bonus to any melee weapon attacks they make. This damage is radiant damage. In addition, every hostile creature within that area must subtract your rage damage bonus from any melee weapon attacks they make.

Level 14: Avatar of Steel

At 14th level, you can become a bulwark of divine steel when you enter a rage while wearing heavy armour. If you do so, for the duration of your rage, you gain immunity to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage from nonmagical weapons. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

But then, you ask: What is Homebrew?

In other words, Homebrew is unofficial content created by masters for others to use on their desks.

Homebrew is really simple, but can take many forms. Homebrew refers to any addition, module, or change that is not in an official D&D sourcebook. Homebrews are usually designed in PDFs and are a set of new classes, races, archetypes and rules in general. This content is shared on the internet so that others can test on their desks.

Because D&D is, at its core, a game all about imagination and storytelling, many players frequently add unique features to the game.
