Swagasaurus Run

Mini-Game by Swagbucks

Game Over

Forgive me if I still have the urge to write Starbucks instead of Swagbucks. I'm partial to a nice brew at Starbucks. Swagbucks is a lot different, but you can use Swagbucks towards a Starbucks or two. So for the benefit of those who have never heard of Swagbucks, it's a site that awards its members for using their sites and taking advantage of their promotions and taking part in their surveys. You can pretty much do anything with Swagbucks: watch videos and play some games. They pay in Swagbucks, which can be used to redeem as gift cards or Amazon.

The game section of Swagbucks is actually quite low with only a few available. Swagasaurus Run is one of the games available to play. The premise of the game is pretty simple: you're a green dinosaur full of swag that makes you jump high. All you have to do is jump to reach platforms and jump over creatures. Sounds easy peasy lemon squeezy! Those who have played many platform games like Kirby and Super Mario will know exactly how to play this. Even those who don't game a lot should have no problem with this.

It's a pretty cute and addictive little game if you're really wanting to earn as much Swagbucks as possible, but on its own, it doesn't really hold up to much. It's not very original and it's not very friendly towards slow computers and poor internet signals. Flash player is required to play this game and I think a Swagbucks account is required too. A lot of effort if you're not a member of Swagbucks.

Then there's the glitches and the freezing. There have been many times when I've been destined to fall simply because the game freezes and you can't see where you're going. Then there's the glitch where you're stuck in the bath and there's no way to escape the enemies or jump out of it.

Then there is the Swagbucks payment, I've found that it's random. You're not always guaranteed Swagbucks every time you play the game. Which can be frustrating as it's the only reason why people play this game is because they want Swagbucks. The highest score I ever got didn't give me any Swagbucks, whilst one time where I fell off during the first gap due to a glitch, I was given 2 Swagbucks. I wonder if you only get the full 10 Swagbucks when you complete the level. Though glitches and game freezes will stop me from ever knowing.

The art is pretty cool and the dinosaur looks cool, but everything else is basic. This could have been a really fun game, but the glitches and game freezing mean it's not a game that I will be playing very often, even if I am trying to get Swagbucks. I think the best way to get Swagbucks is having an iPhone and letting Swagbucks run in the background, that's how somebody I know makes £100 a week, on there on top of referral links. I got an iPhone online but it doesn't work so I'll either have to get it fixed or swap it for a new one.

Swagasaurus Run isn't as swag as you would expect. I can think of many ways for the game to be better. Some customization would be nice. Some more levels and some items and power-ups. Swagasaurus Run is basically Super Mario with dinosaurs but without the power-ups or special items. I know that this is a free-to-play game, but that's my two cents on how to make the game better. I think it's got an awesome name, but wish there was more substance to it.

So putting all this into account, I would rate Swagasaurus Run 2 stars!
