American Rap King, Drake is once again placing his dreaded curse on Israel Adesanya ahead of UFC 305 early Sunday at 2 am CAT, from inside RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, as the millionaire rapper has wagered $450,000 on “Last Stylebender” Israel Adesanya to defeat UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis in the main event.

Reports have it that Drake likes to throw some big cash at some of UFC’s most high-profile matchups. The popular hip-hop artist has backed fighters such as Alex Pereira, Nate Diaz, Leon Edwards, and even Francis Ngannou when he fought Anthony Joshua, but one of Drake’s favourite picks is Adesanya.

Coming into this weekend, Drake is once again putting his money on Adesanya to win in the main event. This time around, Drake is betting $450,000 that “Last Stylebender” leaves UFC 305 with the middleweight title. The official payout is just north of $850,000, which isn’t as big as previous wagers but still a great way to close out the weekend.

Adesanya made his professional debut in 2012, with a TKO win against James Griffiths. He scored another TKO win against John Vake, before taking a two-year hiatus from mixed martial arts. He returned to MMA in August 2015, when he won the fight against Song Kenan by TKO.

Israel Adesanya, known as "The Last Stylebender," is a Nigerian-born, New Zealand-based mixed martial artist who has risen to global prominence as one of the UFC’s most electrifying fighters. Born on July 22, 1989, in Lagos, Nigeria, Adesanya moved with his family to New Zealand at a young age, where he would eventually begin his martial arts journey. He initially dabbled in kickboxing, where he quickly made a name for himself with his dynamic striking and unorthodox style, amassing an impressive record before transitioning to mixed martial arts (MMA).

Adesanya made his professional MMA debut in 2012, and his early career was marked by a series of knockout victories that highlighted his striking prowess. His unique blend of speed, precision, and creativity in the octagon quickly caught the attention of MMA fans and experts alike. He signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2018 and made an immediate impact with a debut victory over Rob Wilkinson, which earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.

Within a short time, Adesanya established himself as a force in the middleweight division. His charisma, confidence, and striking skills made him a fan favorite. In 2019, after a series of dominant performances, he captured the UFC Interim Middleweight Championship by defeating Kelvin Gastelum in one of the year’s most thrilling fights. Later that year, he unified the middleweight title by defeating Robert Whittaker in a spectacular knockout victory at UFC 243, solidifying his status as the undisputed middleweight champion.

Adesanya’s fighting style is heavily influenced by his background in kickboxing and boxing, characterized by fluid movement, feints, and precise striking. He is known for his ability to read opponents and counter their attacks with pinpoint accuracy. Beyond his fighting skills, Adesanya’s personality, marked by his love for anime and dance, has made him a unique and marketable figure in the UFC.

Despite a brief foray into the light heavyweight division, where he faced his first UFC loss against Jan Błachowicz, Adesanya’s legacy as a dominant middleweight champion remains intact. His achievements, combined with his entertaining persona, have made him one of the most recognized and respected fighters in the sport. As of today, Israel Adesanya continues to be a major draw in the UFC, with a career that exemplifies both skill and showmanship.
