If you've been playing any FPS that was made after 2005, then you're fully aware of the power that a shotgun offers you. These weapons are often a favorite of players no matter what game they're in, simply because of their brutal effectiveness.

In Night City, shotguns are also favored by certain gangs and mercs, leading to the creation of some interesting iconic weapons to add to your arsenal wall. Here's how to get every iconic shotgun in Cyberpunk 2077.

(Except for the ones found in the Phantom Liberty DLC. I started writing this series before Phantom Liberty came out, so I've decided to cover the new iconic weapons in their own article. Stay tuned!)

Ba Xing Chong

Type: Smart shotgun

Mission: Nocturne OP55N1

Location: Inside a secret room onboard the Ebunike that can only be accessed after you've beaten the game.

Ah, Adam Smasher. This psychotic hunk of metal and malice looms large in the background of Cyberpunk 2077 as a bodyguard to the Arasaka family that you first encounter while escaping from Konpeki Plaza. As the game progresses, Smasher is the lead that you follow deeper into both the secrets of the Arasaka family and Johnny's past, especially during the intel-gathering missions that you conduct with Rogue.

One of these missions is breaking into the Ebunike, a large cargo ship docked at a remote shipyard in Night City that is rumored to be Smasher's hideout. This rumor happens to be correct, and you can loot a whole bunch of iconic items from Smasher's personal collection of trophies, including the crafting spec for the Iconic shotgun Ba Xing Chong. However, you can't get into the room where this crafting spec is found until you've beaten the game - this is because you have to loot the keycard off of Adam Smasher's body during the final mission. After beating the game and reloading your save, make a trip back out to the Ebunike to claim your prize.

Much like Smasher himself, Ba Xing Chong is simple, but brutally effective. This shotgun fires explosive rounds, which will make you really happy that you're on the trigger end while your enemies end up as a pile of bits on the ground.

Bloody Maria

Type: Smart shotgun

Mission: Ride Captain Ride

Location: Gifted by Muamar Reyes after completing all of his gigs.

Fixers are the lifeblood of Night City, especially if you're a merc. And if you complete everything they ask of you, you can reap amazing rewards.

In the case of 'El Capitán' Muamar Reyes, completing all of his gigs will earn you Bloody Maria, a smart shotgun that can inflict Bleeding on your enemies and comes with increased knockdown chance, making it ideal for mowing down large groups of advancing gangers like the Animals.

Guts

Type: Power Shotgun

Mission: None

Location: Found in Memorial Park near the city center, hidden in the foliage.

If you watched the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, then you know why this gun is iconic. It's a new Iconic weapon added in update 1.6, and it belonged to Rebecca, one of David's fellow mercs in the show. Unlike David's jacket, which you have to follow a quest to find, Rebecca's gun is just available to find in Night City, if you know where to look.

Where to look, it turns out, is Arasaka Tower, a multi-level area in Corpo Plaza. Make your way to the level that looks like a garden with holographic fish swimming above you (does anyone have the number for the Arasaka's decorator? Asking for a friend). On the southwestern side of this area, there are three monks kneeling in meditation - the grassy area behind them is where you'll find Guts.

Guts is a modified Carnage with a little something extra - it deals chemical damage and can poison enemies. While it has a slower reload rate and fire speed than a normal Carnage, it can be absolutely devastating.

Mox

Type: Power Shotgun

Mission: Pyramid Song

Location: Judy's apartment

In Cyberpunk 2077, love = guns. This is also true of Judy, the brilliant BD editor that you can romance after she helps you with Evelyn's BD of Konpeki Plaza. Near the end of her questlines, she will gift you with Mox, a power shotgun that has a reduced spread if you aim down the sights, raising its accuracy and basically letting you shoot right through enemies.

If you don't romance Judy, don't worry - you can also find Mox in her apartment after she leaves Night City.

Sovereign

Type: Power Shotgun (double-barreled)

Mission: Suspected Organized Crime Activity in Japantown

Location: Looted from an enemy in a Suspected Organized Crime Activity in Japantown, north of Silk Road West.

Suspected Organized Crime Activity missions are a fun challenge for higher level players in Cyberpunk 2077, and they offer great rewards.

One of these rewards is the crafting spec for Sovereign, a Power shotgun that fires two rounds per shot with reduced spread, letting you mow down enemies with brutal efficiency.

The Headsman

Type: Power shotgun

Mission: Suspected Organized Crime Activity in North Oak

Location: Looted from an enemy during a Suspected Organized Crime Activity mission on the east side of North Oak.

If you're looking to fill up your stash room (and who isn't?) then you'll need to pay attention to those Suspected Organized Crime Activity spots. This particular spot is in North Oak, inside a business called Impala Automatics. You'll loot the crafting spec from an automaton inside the warehouse.

The Headsman is something of a jack-of-all-trades in terms of shotguns - it doubles the number of projectiles per shot, increases the chance to inflict Bleed or dismember enemies, and has a reduced reload time. The spread is increased and the fire rate and clip size have been decreased, but who cares? Your enemies will be in a billion little pieces before you have time to care.

That's all for iconic shotguns in Cyberpunk 2077! Stay tuned for a guide on the Iconic weapons added in the Phantom Liberty DLC.
