Gaming = Healthy?
The worlds standard on gaming is that it damages your brain, but could it be a mentally educational activity?

As you might already know, the world has a negative view on gaming, when related to your health. We hear it everywhere, the news, the media, health magazines, and especially the warning when starting your ps4.
My focus is not to challenge those ideas (although I might), but to put new ideas about gaming into perspective.
Let me start with establishing some common ground. Focusing on screens for long periods of time while everything is happening is not healthy. Yes, it can cause dizziness, seizures, and other basic health problems. We all know that.
Now heres the part where I make my point.
Have you ever watched someone play a video game, and not know what was going on? Then they start saying crazy game gibberish that confuses you more? Have you ever played an online game, and lost to an unseen factor, only to realize it was too late?
My personal philosophy is that the best of the best gamers have the fastest brains. Im not saying the smartest, (not saying otherwise), but the fastest. That one time you are healing up and just barely see someone in time to hit a quick scope, to make an awesome play... or where you duck behind a corner just fast enough to avoid being sniped. Your brain reacted fast enough to do what was necessary. When you make those quick reactions you are exercising the cerebellum.
The cerebellum is the part of the brain at the back of the skull in its vertebrates. The function of the cerebellum is it receives information from the sensory systems, the spinal cord, and other parts of the brain and then regulates motor movements.
Basically, hand eye coordination, and reactions. How fast can you rect to whatever is placed in front of you, thats basically all competitive gaming is. How can I react faster and more efficient than the other player before he/ she makes their move.
What do you think after all this being said? Do you understand the logic that has been spoken? Or do you still think the other risks are far too great to worry about any if positives.
