Elden Ring: One of the top upcoming games 2022

I still remember watching the reveal trailer for Elden Ring. The whole thing blew me away, even though I've never played a Souls game. 

To be exact, I once tried to play the first Dark Souls game but this one is not for the casual gamers or for the feint of heart. I quit the game really fast and did not give it the proper attention. Then, I tried again playing Bloodborne on PS5, but after finishing the first stage I was at the central hub not knowing how to progress. Here is where I thought that having a guideline in the game would be nice, though I understand that people like these kind of games for exactly what they are. I remember a friend telling me that in most of the game you just have to find your own way around. The difficulty is what sets those games apart from others. People love them cause of that. There is a certain feeling associated to where there is a really difficult situation in a game and when, after many tries of learning and researching, you finally manage to beat it. After that, you get a sense of achievement like no other, you just achieved a great feat that many others probably can't.

So, now we have this amazing new entry that looks and feels amazing. The graphics are absolutely stunning and the overall design is giving me strong Middle Earth vibes. Many places from the game look like places from Lord of the Rings like Dol Guldur. The world building is assisted by George RR Martin, best known for the Game of Thrones series by HBO. The world looks creepy and haunted, as everything you see around is trying to kill you, but at the same time full of natural life like forests, lakes and mountains. And, of course, the big tree in the middle of the map which at first glance seems like the final destination of the game or the place where you expect the final boss of the game will be. The world is said to be full of dungeons and ruins to explore and their design is awesome as well! From what I have seen, every design feels unique and non repetitive in the game.

What feels really nice about those games is that they are not exactly repetitive. I mean, yeah, if you play the game for a second time of course you will remember the quests and the locations, but its the RPG element that sets them apart. Each and every class/ weapon/ setup has a different style and that means having a completely unique gameplay, experience and approach to the game. The skill system will be different from the previous Souls games. You will be able to obtain skills, magic and equipment by crafting or exploring the map.

I just wish that my schedule will allow me to have the time to master its combat and be able to explore this magical land. This game is definitely not recommended for casual gamers since they won't be able to properly enjoy it. Also, the game is said to be released for previous consoles as well, like PS4 and Xbox One. I'd suggest if you own one of those systems to hang on on the release and wait for their respective review from youtubers or from other articles regarding the performance. The trailers you see now online may not represent the end product on the regular PS4 and Xbox One S.
