Cris Tales Review

When you play as a time mage, Cris Tales includes a lot of time-based tricks, plot devices and gameplay hooks

When you play as a time mage, Cris Tales includes a lot of time-based tricks, plot devices and gameplay hooks. If Cris Tales has one outstanding feature, that is that it is the unique use of time travel and time manipulation that is at the heart of all you do.

In fact, many areas of the screen itself are divided into three sections that show past, present, and future locations to visit, interact with, and solve puzzles to better understand the world and its characters. Whether it's jumping back in time to pick flowers, or retrieving an advanced invention from the future with the help of an inventor from the present, or one that is transforming the world, players will see quests completed.

Speaking of characters involved in side quests, CRIS Tales reveals more of the fantastic world built into the game. The game wastes no time in showcasing its strengths, with a beautiful, hand-drawn aesthetic that offers surface pleasure, and great turn-based combat mechanics that delivers thrills that are more than up close. Fighting crowds of monsters and minions is easy due to an easy-to-understand battle menu and a wide range of combat skills that can be used to tackle encounters in different ways.

Cris Tales adds also a timing mechanism that keeps battles interesting by pressing a key at the right time for the attack to land a critical hit while doing the same for incoming enemy attacks to parry, minimise damage and avoid status interference. Cristales "Facilitate to manipulate the flow of time is at the heart of the narrative and struggle of Cristales. While it is an interesting idea that uses great visual effects and a bright, charming world, it is not used in the rest of the game.

When it matters, the repetitive turn-based battles of CRIS Tales feel trapped in a continuum of boring time loops. I suspect that the above-mentioned distracting elements are there for engagement and plot reasons, but the result is a collection of likeable but one-dimensional characters that come across in an interesting way. With a timeless story, quirky characters and effortless charm, CRis Tales manages to make itself fun.

Crisbell, a young girl without any knowledge of her past and who has become a time magician, meets a talking time traveller frog named Matias who says she can perceive the past, present and future of the world, giving her the unique ability to grasp the history of people and change their destiny. Outside of the fight, Crisbell can help her talking frog friend Matias to jump between the past and the future and involve people in their environment. There is a solid system here where Crisbell's ability to turn back time has good synergies with her teammates, leading to moments of strategy where you and another character are waiting to form a strong combination to defeat a powerful enemy. Fluid animations help you beat attacks with bonus damage and eliminate smaller enemies.

As a young girl called Crisbell learns to harness the power of mystical time crystals, players benefit from innovative mechanics, turn-based combat and environmental exploration. Along the way, she meets and recruits powerful allies, from Matias the frog to Willhelm the child magician, as Crisbell explores the world and meets her unique companions, she has to make decisions that have long-lasting consequences for the people she meets, with consequences that affect the world. A talking time-traveling frog named Matias, who explains that Crisbell can now see the past, present and future of the world, takes her to where she meets Willhelm first, a time mage who tells her that she is the key to stopping the time warrior, a powerful time mage that has set out to conquer the entire world.

It is animated frame by frame through over 20 hours of game-playing, whether you attack them or find creative ways to harness the time power of Crisbells to change reality. Hand-drawn 2D Art brings branches of past and future regions, enemies and NPC lives through animation by frame. Discover the unique combination of branched stories, innovative fighting and classic role playing in CRIS Tales and experience an exciting and unforgettable exploration of how our actions resonate through time.

The hilarious character Willhelm prevents things from getting too stressful, and Crisbell's powerful skills as a time magician lead to fascinating narrative decisions, funny puzzles and gripping battles. CRIS Tales is a satisfying story about a group of troubled individuals who want to save the world for their own reasons and find a place that belongs to each other along the way. The final moments of the game are inconclusive, but tie it all together in a satisfying way, and the journey is worth it.

Cris Tales is a completely different creature that meets the needs of most JRPG fans, but is still fresh and accessible to the occasional Switch player. Take young Crisbell, the protagonist of the clock-spinning role-playing game Cris Tales by Modus Games. A young woman named Crisbell, who one day discovers that she is a unique magician, is thrown on a journey that takes her into a beautiful world full of dark secrets.

Cris Tales is an unashamedly classic role playing game, the first release of Colombian developer Dream Uncorporated (formerly Syck). Young Crisbell, the protagonist of the watch-spinning role-playing game Cris Tales from Modus Games, enjoys the modest and pleasant life in the small town Narim and works with her sister in an orphanage for great women and tries not to be distracted by the bigger problems of country war, oppression and class struggle. Crisbell has not the luxury of submitting to her destiny: a life beyond her wildest imagination a life that finds its way into her in the form of a preppy talking frog, Matia, who awakes with incredible strength one morning.
