Duke it out in soccer, volleyball (called 'drop shot' in-game), or even basketball, all while using small, remote control cars as your in-game player. It's that fun and a monster hit that every gamer should enjoy.
With the NBA's quick return to every sports fan's television over the past month or so, it's not hard to deduce why NBA 2K 18 would be one of the best Xbox One sports games right now.
Players can either hop online, using their favorite NBA teams, from the Wizards to the Heat, all with updated rosters. Or, have a go at the life yourself by crafting your very own player and team. Rise to the top of the NBA using the career mode, and challenge your friends online to see who's crafted the best hooping experience.
That's right, racing gamers rejoice! Some of the greatest Xbox experiences are had through the virtual windshield, traveling at up to 200 mph as you race to the finish line. Need for Speed: Payback gives players the chance to return to the gritty street racing roots we gamers all loved when we were kids. Out pace your friends, or leave the cops in the dust, this game gives players the option to race whenever, wherever, and you can do it in style.
Need for Speed's newest installation should capture every gear head's love, but it will also prove to be one of the best Xbox One sports games, not solely for graphics, but for the added depth of in-game components and open-world action.
Like the NBA, NHL's fast return to television brings gamers a much-needed itch to scratch in the form of virtual hockey, and no other video game is worthy of being one of the best Xbox One sports games more than NHL 18.
Whether online or in splitscreen, fight for the Stanley Cup against each of your friends, using teams from the well-known NHL franchise leagues, or even lesser-known markets, like worldwide teams from around the globe, and even college divisions. It's that in-depth, plus all new features allow for a wide variety of decision making and performance when charging for the puck. NHL 18 is the perfect slapshot of Xbox One sports gaming.
As far as wrestling goes, WWE always has it in the bag. Though it's a particularly niche market, wrestling games are still a must for the fighting gamers in all of us. Like none other before it, WWE 2K18 showcases a whole new plethora of added components, playable characters, and downloadable content for everyone to enjoy.
If you love wrestling and need a change in your gaming experience, try out WWE 2K18, because it's one of the best Xbox One sports games right now. With a whole new and expanded mass of content, why wouldn't you?
Like a knockout goal from Madrid's Christiano Ronaldo, seen pictured on the cover above, or a header from Barca's Lionel Messi, FIFA and its franchise of soccer games have not once let up on the experience of their in-game sport.
With all new rosters, updated pitches, even more playable teams, and drastically improved physics, FIFA 18 proves to be one of the best Xbox One sports games, and was recently updated to bring even better experiences to the soccer gamers everywhere.
Despite its relatively low reviews on the PC, Forza Motorsport 7 is by far one of the best Xbox One sports games, and is probably the greatest racing game on the market currently.
Race to the top of your friends list, battling it out in awesome souped-up rides, like the Porsche pictured above. As it's the 10th installment in their series of racing video games, Forza proves to bring alive the motorsport community and gives players a whole world of options to choose from, good for hours of play whether online or in campaign mode.
It's no secret that the greatest football video games ever made have been at the helm of Madden's yearly additions to the series. Madden 18, sporting Tom Brady on the cover, doesn't just cater to New England Patriots fans. It's a football fanatics dream come true.
Launching players onto the field, Madden 18 revitalizes the way football games are played by adding all-new content never before tested. We're talking about online content, millions of added and differentiated plays amongst teams, and an even longer list of features, from building your own stadium to crafting your own managerial team. It's that in-depth and will leave you breathless with the amount of options to choose from in a simple NFL video game.
With Tiger Woods both in and out of the picture, though sadly more out than in, EA Sports and the PGA Tour have been in need for newer and more prosperous video game content. Enter Rory McIlroy, and you've got one of the best Xbox One sports games to date.
As one of the most world renowned modern golfers, McIlroy's involvement in the new franchise of video games made it a newfound staple among golfing gamers. It's initial release was, for lack of a better term, weak. But, after a few weeks full of complaints, EA gave players a free DLC to enjoy on them, which added a plethora of new courses, players, and even better putting physics. Whether you appreciate the game or not, Rory McIlroy PGA Tour is your next Tiger Woods incantation, bringing players all across the world with a 9 iron and a putter in hand, all at the end of an Xbox controller.
If WWE wasn't enough for you fighting gamers out there, try out Killer Instinct. Unlike most other sports games, this one utilizes hand to hand combat, giving the more physical of online gamers a chance to rejoice.
Sadly, the arcade era is long over, but that doesn't mean we have to sacrifice awesome retro gaming, like Street Fighter or Tekken. Herein lies the beauty of Killer Instinct. By crafting ingenious graphics, even more physical physics than ever before seen, and a multitude of playable characters, Killer Instinct makes itself known as one of the best Xbox One sports games, and will remain so for quite some time, until someone can take the belt.
While Need for Speed and Forza both own their own racing niches, DiRT too has its own community of racing bandwagons, which makes it one of the best Xbox One sports games. Rally is no different than their previous installments, except it's jam packed with a whole bunch of new and cool features.
If you love racing and can't get enough of muddy, messy clashes against your friends, DiRT Rally is your game. It's got a variety of new courses, cars, and even obstacles to choose from. Plus, players can even choose the weather conditions, timed or point-to-point races, plus a whole lot more. It's crazy in-depth for a rallying sports game, but it's the best you'll get on the Xbox One. While it may be last on this list, it certainly is not the least in terms of content or online playability.
